Marek's Collier House — Restaurant in Marco Island

We come in from England annually and stay next door at Riverside Club. We were pleasantly surprised this year to see this had opened at the previous Marek's site. We ate twice in our 6 days in Marco this year and food was excellent (a little expensive but you get what you pay for), drinks list very good, had a nice vibe about it and serving staff were very good. We certainly would recommend but had a small gripe on the first night. Our water bottle imploded on our table, witnessed by the waiter. The glass was quickly cleared up, staff apologetic (an adjacent table asked for their bottle to be removed after witnessing but this was a one-off) and water run off was also cleared. As the table was sloped, all the water ran down onto my shorts and soaked me (my wife was laughing as was the waiter and I could see the funny side). Nevertheless, I have spent the last 35 years in hospitality and if this had happened on my watch I would have discounted the bill or offered a free drink, neither of which happened. That, for me, was the chance for the management to show some care and they missed the opportunity. I didn't raise with them as I shouldn't have to, but it did leave a slightly sour taste lingering. We did return and had a great experience, but, hopefully, the review may make them revisit...

We had such a wonderful experience for dinner ! The resteraunt is so clean, very classy, yet also cozy and comfortable. The entire staff is AMAZING. You step in and you're treated like family. Our hostess greeted us so warmly and even checked on us after dinner, we met the beautiful and sweet owner who took the time to chat with us, and our FANTASTIC waiter, Brian, who has to be the kindest person on the planet. Not only was he a wonderful waiter who shared so much knowledge of the southern comfort food and the history of the resteraunt, but he made it a top priority for us to enjoy our dining experience. Brian recommended the Tres Leches cake as well, and even though I planned to take it to go, I ate every bite before we left. He even saw us trying to take a picture and insisted he take a picture for us. He waited on us like we were his only customers even though we know he was very busy with other guests! On top of that, he had us dying laughing the entire time. This was truly a dining experience I will never forget!

We loved this place! The menu is full of flavor highlights for us were the filet mignon with mashed potatoes, perfectly cooked, the showstopping hanging bacon, the mouthwatering short rib tacos, and the macadamia nut-covered mahi-mahi, which was absolutely delicious. Trese did an amazing job bringing everything together from the elegant decor to the creative, perfectly crafted menu. You can tell she poured her heart into this place, and it made the entire experience unforgettable. Beyond the amazing food and ambiance, the service was exceptional. Our server was super attentive and genuinely kind, and the amazing manager at the front made everyone feel welcomed from the moment they walked in. The atmosphere is warm and sophisticated, with beautiful lighting and attention to every little touch. I highly recommend this place can’t wait...
