Having spent the last five years living in North Carolina— I went into Betty’s with high expectations. I’m thrilled to say they delivered. From the first bite of their slow-smoked ribs to the pulled pork, and crispy fried chicken, the flavor and quality were absolutely outstanding—authentic BBQ done right, down to the smoke rings and seasoning!

But what pushed this experience over the top wasn’t just the food—it was the people. The owners and management clearly care deeply about the Margate community. They’re long-time players who pour heart and soul into quality and service. Ordered the gobler to get into the thanksgiving spirit (maybe a little early but who’s to say). I was delightfully surprised to find it came with a slice of a homemade pumpkin roll. I wasn’t expecting this surprise, and I’m no pumpkin fein, but dare I say this may have been the best dessert I’ve had in my 24 years on this extraordinary planet. My only issue with it is that I don’t have 12 more slices waiting for me in my kitchen. We got Betty’s BBQ catering last weekend for my daughter’s first birthday party and all anyone could talk about was how delicious the food was. Aside from that, Robin was super helpful in helping us choose what to get with great suggestions for a party.

We decided on a few different breakfast sandwiches, pulled pork, brisket and burnt ends. This all came variously bbq sauces, salsa, spuds, mac and cheese and slaw.
