I love Margate beach! It's beautiful, usually isn't crowded, peaceful and relaxing. The only problem is the construction still going on and how the beach has changed so much in the past year. The tides are different and between erosion from storms and the change in the beaches look, length and sand is a hindrance at best and hopefully will be fixed as best as they can as soon as possible. Plus some entrances are blocked by construction, but once you make it to the ocean side it almost completely makes up for the mess you go through to get there. (P. S. If a worker pulls up to you while walking the shore line, don't pay him any mind. They drive around in their trucks trying to intimidate people off the beach, but it's public property and as long as you're not where they're working at that moment or near their equipment they are supposed to leave you alone. That unfortunately is not the case, but don't let that stop you from enjoying Margate beach. Just know you're rights and respectfully tell them to mind their business and continue enjoying what's left of the beautiful beach that will hopefully be restored to it's...
ย ย ย Read moreNice beach. Very clean and more family oriented compared to A.C. or Ventnor. Lifeguards were on duty every so distance and beach patrol keeping an eye out. My only issues are that there are no public restrooms anywhere nearby. In fact we asked a peach patrol person and they directed us to a community center over a half mile away which may or may not be open. So I guess that if you're going to be spending the day at the beach, hold it in ๐. The other thing is that during the summer, you need beach tags. OK,no problem. I bought 4 tags through the "My Beach Mobile" app which gives you a QR code that beach patrol scans upon entry. Well, no one even looked at my tag or much less scanned it. The girl at the entry asked if I had one and that was it. Her eyes were mostly in her phone the whole time. Later I saw other people entering the beach without getting stopped or showing tags so I guess it's arbitrary. Theres no difference between the people who paid and the people who didn't. If you're going to enforce beach tags, it should be enforced...

It would be nice for families if it wasn't treated as a football, soccer, baseball, horseshoes, and any other games that should be played away from those who want to enjoy the beach as a family. I am speaking from about 15 years experience at this beach. The rude people who don't care about the families and little ones are just too annoying. There is all open space behind the beach goers but these people just want to play their sports in with the people who just want to enjoy a nice beach. I am just waiting for someone to get hurt and then maybe the beach patrol will enforce some...
