The Lot — Restaurant in Margate City

Drinks and vibes are great; pizza/flatbread is genuinely TERRIBLE. Will NOT be back for food. Tomatoes is my favorite restaurant ever, so the disappointment was incredibly real with the food at the lot. We ordered a margherita flatbread which is described on the menu as “garlic oil, tomato, basil, mozzarella.” I assumed this meant tomato sauce with mozzarella on top like any other magherita pizza- but you know what they say about assuming! This was literally a white pie with SLICES OF TOMATO. It was terrible. Genuinely so bad I could not eat it. It was cheesy bread with slices of tomato and honestly, I’d rather have dominos cheesy bread. That bad. Not what I wanted at all, not what is described on the menu, but when I asked for a refund I was told no because it’s “described on the menu.” Y’all need to update your menu then, this is NOT a margherita pizza. Not to mention how expensive everything is for mid-food. Drinks are cheaper inside Tomatoes and bigger + less mixers. So INCREDIBLY disappointed. The outdoor setup with benches is what really drew us in. This was our first time and let me tell you it will also be the absolute last time. We ordered a variety of items and they were TERRIBLE. The guacamole and chips were impressively forgettable, the shrimp bowl was a masterclass in bland….I believe the truffle fries were the only items on the menu that was decent. As for the shrimp gyoza? I never received them. Honestly, I am beyond grateful they never came as I was able to get a refund. A cool place to hangout, but the food is absolutely TERRIBLE. This is coming from someone who regards the actual indoor restaurant as one of the best in the area. However, this "Lot" is sells atrocious, overpriced food.My group ordered fish tacos, shrimp gyoza, margherita pizza, and chips/guac. Everything was really bad... will NOT be back for food.
