We are staying in the hotel right across from the restaurant, so close we're almost attached. I called to order delivery and said, "we are in the Best Western next door," and the girl, though mostly polite, said, "I'm still going to need the address." I think that a lot of people staying in this hotel probably order pizza from there and to better service customers they should probably post the address near the phone. Actually, she could probably see the address on the front of the building from where she was standing we are so close, but oh well. Because we are in a kitchenless hotel room, I asked for plates. I also asked for four ranch dressings which we paid extra for. We did not get any plates and only 1 ranch dressing, but we made it work. We ordered mozzarella sticks, a regular deluxe calzone, and a small 1975 pizza. The mozzarella sticks were really good. They were hot, although there was a hair in them, long and blonde. That might completely deter someone from eating but I am a cosmetologist so we just brushed it off. The pizza was very good. You can tell the toppings are fresh. It's a greasy, comfort food type of pizza, heavy on the garlic which we both like. The calzone was good and pleasantly small. Most places you order a small calzone and it's still humongous. We just wanted to taste it and it was the perfect size for two to share as an appetizer or one to eat alone. Another note on the customer service as someone who has been in the customer service industry for over a decade: the menu is impossible to read online, you need to put a pdf version on the website. I asked for a small calzone and the girl said, "ummmmm....there is only regular or super." Obviously, having asked for a small, I wanted the smaller of the two, which she could have deduced instead of acting ignorant . The girl was young and I am nitpicky about customer service things like this, so she probably just needs more experience. But, putting time into your customer service and making sure people's orders are correct go a long way, especially in such a nice neighborhood. Would recommend to other people staying in the hotel. We would eat...
Read moreI haven't been to mio's in a few years but on my walk through the neighborhood I decided that once I got home I drive back up and order a pizza it sounded great always loved what they do with the sesame seeds in the crust it makes it taste very different and good.I basically ordered a Deluxe pizza and a spinach salad and on the positive side the service there was very good the girl at the back counter and take out was very attentive and very friendly. The salad was good I think for $10 it could have been more plentiful . The pizza on the other hand was horrid. They evidently have changed their dough and was told that they have just changed owners as well. the old dough was fluffier thicker and very rich this new dough is dry crispy and not anywhere resembling what it used to be like.it doesn't even baked to a golden brown it was basically white and where it hit overcooked a bit and was crispy was kind of dark brown. the pizza itself was lacking of sufficient toppings there was not even one little piece of pepper per slice barely more onions and scarce on the pepperoni and sausage and very dry hardly any sauce at all. I noticed something was awry when I was still there and lifted up the box to put my hot pepper flakes into the box and questioned the employee on the look of the pizza that's when I was explained that they've changed the dough and that the owners are new. not at all the pizza I remembered I won't be back if...
Read moreMy most recent visit to Mariemont Mio’s with my family with be my last. The sewer smell was horrendous and staff dismissed our concerns. “We can’t do anything about it.” Well, you better get on the phone and call everyone in public office because it is ruining your restaurant. The Virginia BBQ pizza was AGAIN not made correctly. On previous visits, gobs of sauce made the pie fall apart and tasted like they used multiple bottles of BBQ sauce on it. Server even questioned it. She said she wanted to see what we thought of it. If you know it’s wrong and inedible then don’t even bring it! Are you trying to see if we don’t notice?? This most recent time (and last) was the exact opposite though with hardly any sauce or chicken or bacon. My mother-in-law said she didn’t even know it had chicken on it. And don’t dare order the spinach salad because you might get food poisoning as I did earlier this year. I’ve given this location every chance in the world to redeem themselves. Enough is enough.
Bottom line is you should go to other locations that do a...
