So I love tofu village, I eat there all the time. I order there all the time. But idk what it was about tonight that it was different in a bad way. I actually ordered it twice this week, and this is the second time so I had no worries at first. Until I ate the Kimichi Soon Do Bu. Which I get all the time, and I love it. But first off I get my food per my delivery and the size of it which I just paid $20 for, is in this very small container. Which isn’t like them at all they are usually very generous with food. So I was like okay whatever I’m starving so I don’t care. But then I started to eat it, and eat the banchan kimchi. And immediately it had a foul, strong bad taste like it was a rotten taste. Not their kimchi that I love. I tried both and the cucumber one it had this foul, rotten taste to it. Yes I know kimchi is fermented I know what theirs taste like, this was not that. I can’t even think of a word to describe it other than it was rotten in a bad way. So I said okay I’ll won’t eat those and eat the fish cakes. The soup had the same weird metallic foul rotten off taste to it, I couldn’t finish it. I almost gagged immediately. There was supposed to be pork in it and a cracked egg. It was just kimchi and tofu. That’s it. Again I could be okay with all that because I was starving, but I’m more concerned over the rotten foul taste from both the stew and the banchan. And I NEVER had this happen to me before and I’ve been eating there for years. I tried calling.. it goes straight voicemail. I’m not sure what happened, if the food spoiled, who made it. Idk but all I ate was the rice, it was very concerning to me.
Edit: they never answers these but it made me sick. And I’ve eaten there almost 8 years. I’m so disappointed and shocked I don’t think I’ll ever...
Read moreWe've been dining here for years, but we will never go back. Things have been doing downhill since the ownership change.
By this time, I walked out with our kids and let my husband pay. We left 10% tip - we normally tip 20%-30% when...
Read moreDined here for a weekday lunch. Located near one end of a strip mall, the exterior design and signage is minimal and unassuming. Enter the restaurant and you're drawn in by the modern design with subtle traditional Korean style décor. Staff warmly greeted us and immediately escorted us to our table. The dining area is spacious with good mix of regular tables/chairs and several grill tables for Korean BBQ, etc. The dining area had mostly soft lighting and a mix of neutral and some colorful hues throughout. Even had a couple of TVs on (no/low audio) in the dining area, one with the news and the other showing K-drama (at that time - When Live Gives You Tangerines). Waitress was friendly, very courteous, and helpful with some suggestions based on what we were looking for. Waitress suggested the Oh So Myun (which is ojingeo-bokkeum on noodles and serving for two). The squid and vegetables were delicious and flavorful. Also decided to try their jjajangmyeon, which was perfectly cooked, flavorful, very filling, and satisfying. Banchan served with the meals were ok. Waitress was attentive and even asked if we wanted more banchan sides, which was already sufficient. Overall, great meals and very good service at reasonable prices. Sufficient parking available in shared parking lot. Also appears to have some covered outdoor dining seating near the front entrance of...
