My husband and I have placed two (2) inside orders here. The first time we ordered two (2) sandwiches and drinks to eat inside. After being surprised at the price, but paying, we were told it would be 40 minutes. We canceled our order; we should have been told how long the wait would be when placing the dine-in order...not after.
Then last night we thought we would try again...ordered two (2) sandwiches to go after staring at the overhead screen to double check the pricing. It looked as though the cost would be around $13 since we ordered only sandwiches. The cost was $17.06. I asked why when the sign said it was $5.99 each. The conversation went something like this:
"That's a special coupon deal" Me: "ok" "You didn't order that" Me: "Yes, I did." (pointing to the sign at which I had been looking) "You have to say you want it." Me: (reaching for the menu/coupons on the counter) "ok where is it?" "Oh, it's not printed." Me: "Ok, then how do you get it?!" "You have to say you want it." Me: "I DID!...after you said how much it was going to be when it should have been less!" "But you didn't say it when you ordered." Me: "I'm confused!" "It's a mix and match, so like you can get a sandwich and a pizza..." Me: "Oh, it has to be one of each?" "No, it can be two sandwiches, but you didn't order the deal." Me: "Yes, I did!" "No...you didn't tell me until after I had placed the order and he (my husband) had paid." Me: "Are you SERIOUS?!?!" "Mmm...hmmm" Me: "ok"
So you evidently HAVE to say "I want a mix and match deal" which is unlike any other "fast food" where you order a Whopper, Roast Beef, sausage biscuit, etc... and then when someone else in your party orders one also, they automatically change the screen from 2 individual orders of the same to incorporate the "deal." Don't know if either situation is Domino's policy or employees not trained in...
Read moreI always thought ordering from big name pizza places was an exercise in inevitable disappointment and a game of lesser of all evils. Unfortunatey since moving here I haven’t found a local joint that can do any better. Why does McLo do so many things right and yet their pizza has no flavor beyond dry and charred?
Pizza hut is just too greasy and somehow also dry and Papa John’s is, well, more convenient then a trip to Asheville.
Enter Dominos Apparently I’d confused Dominos with Little Caesars my entire life, cruelly connecting them in my mind as sub-mediocre fare reserved strictly reserved only for hungry orphans, stoners, and highschool softball socials. Sure you can feed your family for less than the cost of a gallon of gas (a truly noble service, honestly , doing god’s work) but no one orders Little Caesars cause it tastes good.
Boy was I wrong! Dominos is awesome. Totally edible, enjoyable pizza. Not too gimmicky and pretty darn good. They also offer other likewise enjoyable stuff like garlic knots (and some grossly addictive cheesy- marinara dipping sauce) sandwiches and brownies. I haven’t ventured to try their salads, wings, or pastas, but with awesome online coupons, quick and consistent service, late hours, easy online ordering and drive through pick up, both softball teams and tired moms alike can rejoice.
*trying brooklyn style pepperoni now, a lot heavy handed on the sauce, but easy to request less sauce and i’d rate this hands down the best pizza in...
Read moreFrom a friend......... I have always loved Domnios pizzas in Marion. I normally would not say a word about a business , but this hit home tonight. A parent helping with food donations reached out to Dominos, and the manager laughed at her when she asked them to donate a pizza for our Special Needs/Valentines Dance. I will say this I am the type of person who puts my money into the local businesses who support foundations like The Bear Closet because those families are the heart of our community. If you are the type of owner/manager that laughs when asked to donate a pizza I will make sure I take my money to the local business owners that support our non-profits or at least show more respect to the volunteers who are reaching out to help us. We understand food is expensive but laughing at someone instead of saying “ No” is not the way to bring in my business. One of these days it could be you that may need someone to lend you a hand and I pray they show you more respect than you did to our...
