I purchased a Sthil FS38 trimmer In May of last year 2023 . I attached The pic of the receipt for verification as well as a picture of the stihl weed trimmer and obviously of the Marion Illinois Rural King . Today Roy I believe his name was . He was the manager in duty that flat refused to look at my warranty and or my Weed eater but told me that he could not help me that I had to go to a Specific location to get the assistance i was needing. The warranty claims that I can take it to my local store for 2 years regardless of whatever it is that breaks accidentally or not. I was not trying to get a new product I was perfectly fine with getting mine replaced. I was in the midst of providing a service for another business as I own a small business. That being said I think that he was not trying to be of assistance to the point the lady had to call for him numerous times before he came up to the desk . He could have went about this in a much better way as i provided everything that was needed to the lady running the desk who initially said yes I’ll switch it out let me get someone that can authorize the switch and Roy being that person did the exact opposite over the radio and then in person never even looking at the product out the warranty. The shaft on the trimmer broke the trimmer itself works great but do not go to Marion with any issues I suggest Benton Illinois or Carbon or Murphysboro if you are lookin to buy a product and have it warranty on it stand behind the warranty buy it directly from the maker not Rural...
Read moreThere are several Rural King stores in our area. Carbondale, and Harrisburg would be the two closest to this store in Marion. If you've been to a Rural King, the one takeaway is that the stores lack any real consistency in their cleanliness or level of maintenance. The Marion store is disgusting. It was originally a Walmart in the 80s, then a Bud's Warehouse Outlet, a subsidiary of Walmart stores, in the 90s. When Rural King purchase it, they removed the tile floors and put patches over busted concrete. All of those patches have fallen apart and the floors are worse than ever. They replaced the original fluorescent lighting with LED. The implementation was terrible and it's so dark in there, you would benefit from a flashlight. The waiting lines can become painfully long and the amount of product they have scattered outside in the parking lot can make it difficult for a sales associate to find you and get your product loaded. Overall this is the biggest eyesore of a store in Marion. I love the convenience of shopping there but I often travel further through town to buy items at typically equivalent or lesser prices. I honestly believe that if it wasn't for a core group of customers that are dedicated to this store, it would close. Meanwhile the Harrisburg location is outstanding, friendly people, clean store, very bright, shopping carts that you can roll without getting stuck in potholes, an overall enjoyable shopping...
