Taco Bell / KFC — Restaurant in Marion

Alright....suffice it to say that I acknowledge and understand the fact that our Taco Bell/KFC, tucked away in our tiny, little hamlet of Marion, VA is terribly understaffed and, from what I can discern, woefully lacking in supportive, productive, and/or effective management. That being said, I will refrain from recounting the specific details of the, decidedly sloppy assembly and anemic ingredient portions of the meal we just received....as such seems to be well-attended in these other reviews I've read. I suppose we could blame the employees....but there aren't really enough of them to justify such a fruitless (and spiteful) tactic, as I can't imagine many of them feeling anything more than desperately stuck on a sinking ship....that's on fire, laden with rats, and blaring Tip-Toe Through the Tulips by Tiny Tim.....on repeat. I suppose we can blame the shift managers....and I would have to offer that therein, must lie some of the blame. Maybe they're mean and douchey and are driving the employees away. We can only speculate. For me....I suppose I'd really like to know....who the hell owns this place? I like to imagine it's an evil genius who owns a bunch of stock in Burger King and is trying to destroy Taco Bell/KFC from the inside out.....and one store at a time. Well played, evil...

We order the Mexican pizza and two taco combo. I requested the tacos with beans rather than beef, just as I have at other locations. Waited in line for 13 minutes for our order. Checked the food before we leave and not only are they beef tacos, they’re wrapped so loosely in paper only that it falls apart in my lap when I pick it up. Park, unload the kid in the rain (tried to avoid that by using the drive thru), go inside and explain why my order is wrong. Manger comes over, explain again and he disappears to fix it. Five minutes later, I’m still waiting. So are lots of other people. I tell the girl at the register that I have to go. We’re now pushing twenty minutes picking up fast food and will be late for our appointment. Girl runs to the back, manger brings out a bag and says sorry. We leave and head to our appointment so I can have a minute to feed us in the parking lot. Get my sons mexican pizza out and get him started and then open my tacos. They are wrapped better this time and actually in the cardboard holders but they are again wrong. I now have taco shells with lettuce, cheese and tomatoes only. No beans. This leads me to wonder what took five minutes to fix...

If I could give this place zero stars I definitely would. It’s been consistently bad all around. The drive thru is extremely slow, the portions are terrible, the food is often dry and bland and the service is the bare minimum. I could really go on and on how bad this restaurant is but I’ll save myself the time. I’ve gave this restaurant multiple chances and have been disappointed every time. If you want a much much better Taco Bell all around then drive the extra distance to Chilhowie. If you want chicken go to Bojangles down the street. I’m sorry but not sorry, this place needs structure and better staff. The owner knows this restaurant is not ran well but no changes have ever been made. If I was the owner of that restaurant I would be cracking a whip but I assume they don’t care too much as long as they make a little money from it. This restaurant has been going downhill for years. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to it and probably still wouldn’t if...
