Having read everybody's reviews and the prices being as reasonable as they were, I had mixed expectations. I wasn't going to be shocked if the food was mediocre. But considering a few friends of mine told me how great this restaurant was, and how flavorable the food was. I was warned to come hungry, wear stretchy paints, and use my napkin. I thought they were over exaggerating, so I decided to eat. I ordered the egg roll bowl and the soup of the day passing up the chicken salad sandwich that was freshly made with homemade bread. I'm starving, now for the wait...tick tock.
Already it was at a good start with the food arriving at the table within 5 minutes by the chef himself. It was at that moment I knew I was in for a treat as I watched the chef and his staff take such pride in their work and cleanliness of the restaurant; time for a mouth party. I found the food to be plated beautifully, the lettuce to be crisp, and the soup to be nice and hot. So without further ado, I eat. As I eagerly take my first bite with the crunch of the lettuce and water chestnut crackling between my teeth, complemented by the dressing, I was in pure ecstasy. I believe I may have left my body or went unconscious because there until the end of the meal, I embarrassed myself. Next was the soup, which I failed to mention had large chunks of juicy chicken breast served nice and hot. As I take my first serving of soup the juicy chicken exploded out of my mouth and onto my shirt, at which I didn't realize until I returned to my body. I began to shovel the rest of my soup into my mouth as though I had no manners. I then go back to my salad shaking as if I just ran a 5k marathon. With adrenaline running, I ate the whole salad and caught myself licking the plate. I frantically look around to see the other fellow patrons staring at me as though I was a sideshow. I'm pretty sure I had sweat beating off my forehead because I was so full. I could have cared less because I just finished the most amazing lunch ever. I stand up to walk to the bathroom to clean up. In my seizure-like state, I realize I hurt myself, pulling an abdominal muscle by clinching my stomach so tightly out of pure enjoyment of my meal. I did not stretch enough. Not being able to get the soup stains out of my white shirt, the owners of the restaurant gave me a La Petite Affaire Cafe T-shirt so I wouldn't be further embarrassed. In conclusion, I would like to thank the owners for an amazing experience. The La Petite Affair Cafe met and blew my expectations away. Be sure to wear stretchy pants, use your napkin, and CHAW for the love of...
