Why is no one in Alex/Pineville talking about this place?! We are so lacking in restaurant variety, specifically this type of restaurant, and it’s just a short drive away in Marksville. The menu consists of classic American fare, but with creative twists that are well executed. There are so many interesting choices I had a hard time choosing on my first visit, but I’ve been slowly making my way around the menu.

For apps, we’ve been stuck on the Krab Nachos and the Spicy Avocado Tuna Stack and haven’t branched out. However, at this point, I’ve tried quite a few of the entrées and have loved them all.

My favorite would be the Shrimp and Grits, but it was taken off the menu and I still haven’t forgiven them for it! However, I see it listed on the current menu on their website, so maybe it’s been brought back??? Fingers crossed!!! Potato Crusted Chicken - The crispy chicken breast with bacon cream sauce could stand alone, but it’s the unique flavors of the sweet potato chipotle mash that really make this dish stand out. Andouille Crusted Redfish - I love everything about this, especially the grits, but the sauces on this are so good and they’re what really elevate BW’s version of this dish. Beef Ribeye - as a person who typically prefers a minimally seasoned steak, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the flavors that the thyme butter adds to the ribeye. And the onion rings are so good. Coffee Rubbed Pork Ribeye - Thick, juicy, and delish. I personally prefer it without the goat cheese and pickled onions. The Brussels sprouts are fantastic.

Servers are always sweet, prompt, and attentive. Prices are typical for this type of restaurant and reasonable considering the quality. I’ve never had a bad meal or a bad experience at Broken Wheel. It’s truly one of the best restaurants in...

UPDATE 8/19/2023

Brought my fiance there for his 60th birthday. What a mistake that was. Got there about 4:30 pm on Saturday, only had 2 or 3 tables with people at them. Not busy at all. We were seated and after about 15 minutes I finally had to get up and ask for a server. It's a bunch of kids working here and a lot of goofing off. Finally Jade comes over and says the girl didn't tell her it was her table. Now it's not a big place and you can clearly see people sitting and waiting. Anyway we order our drinks then some appetizers then order our meal. It all comes out around the same time. We both ordered the seafood Alfredo which comes with a slightly small piece of garlic bread. My fiance asked if he could get another piece of bread and she said with a high pitch "Another piece of bread" he said nevermind don't worry about it. Then she starts to pick up the appetizers. I had to tell her we were not finished. She never offers any kind of condiments, which by the way there's none on the tables. You get 1 napkin and if you want a to go box it's card board and not worth the trouble of using. The Alfredo had shrimp in it that all still had the tails on. That was a no for me for sure. Never got salt, pepper or anything else. She did try to get us to buy dessert but we chose not to. $92.00 for a meal and service like that is not acceptable. I left her a tip but I also heard her complain to someone else that it wasn't enough. You get what you earn. With all of the negatives from the whole experience we will not be going back nor recommending this place to anyone. I definitely don't want to go somewhere that it's a problem to get an extra piece of bread (that I'm paying for) but you're trying to push me to buy dessert. Too expensive and too many kids...

The prices have gone up since our last visit. The food still tastes DELICIOUS, but apparently the amount you get depends on who plates the food. (My onion rings were in a layer to the side of my oysters whereas a lady's at another table were mounded up underneath hers. My husband ordered a combination plate of fish and shrimp but they brought him oysters. When we brought it to the attention of our waitress she brought the whole plate back to the kitchen! (He could've been eating his fish and fries, and of course they were no longer hot when he got his plate back.) Also, the hush PUPPY (as in ONE per plate) were tasty but "packy" (dense) and very small.

Our waitress was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was nice, and the food was DELICIOUS! I've never had seared tuna before and was pleasantly surprised! My husband and the other couple with us all had a combination plate and EVERYTHING...

My dinner guest and I visited this eatery/brewery the last Sat. in June for the first time. Our waitress was an awesome sweetheart! The inside of the place is nice and inviting. There in a patio dining area and and outdoor dining area, too! Walking up to the door, there is a great spot to get your photo taken. There are some advertisements of the food they prepare on a TV monitor in the dining area. I was not sure who the photos of the people are, though. It seems a bit pretentious to post misc. Photos of vacations. Lol It was quite noisy inside of the restaurant, so go outdoors if you prefer a more quiet atmosphere. 1. Crab cakes are THE BEST, EVER! 2. Seared Red fish meal--yum-yum!!! 3. The Tuna was fresh and cooked to my liking! I wish it came with a sauce poured on.
