Turquoise Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Marlboro Township

Stopped by this cafe to grab a treat. A friend of mine mentioned that it had just opened up nearby, and I'm all about trying something new. Will say that I was disappointed. I expected the cafe to embrace their Turkish culture, but they did not... instead, the place is a mishmosh of goods without a cohesive theme. Also, when we were there at midday, a lot of the stands were empty. I ordered the strawberry mint fauxito which sounded really great and natural on paper, but ended up being a bit oversweetened with syrup(?). The lady also mentioned that they ran out of mint, so she offered me a baked good which tasted like maybe it had come from a box rather than being baked by the personnel there. The spot also doesn't have too much in the way of seating... seemed more like a takeout spot but isn't exactly located in a place where that would be...

Turquoise Bakery & Cafe is excellent. I’ve been a couple times now. Baked treats are divine. Most recently I had the açaí bowl, grilled cheese, tomato soup special (especially decadent), banana pudding and the chocolate chip cookie. The food was delicious. I met up with family, but could totally see myself meeting with clients or just working for a few hours in there. The music is in the background and never intrusive, so you’re not competing to have a discussion. I will stop by every time I’m in the area for sure. The owners are a local couple with roots in NJ and in Turkey respectively. Pinar is a magician baker and you could tell she and Eric are pouring all their love into this new place. I’m not a fan of buying food I can make at home easily but since it was Mother’s Day, I said why not. So happy I decided to give Turquoise Bakery a shot. My family and I ordered the egg sandwich croissant, vegetable soup of the day, grilled cheese, burrata toast, and a side of hummus and pita with hazelnut chocolate latter and a dirty chai latte. Everything was delicious and tasty. Such high quality ingredients. We also got the banana pudding, pistachio macaroon, Oreo sugar cookie, and chocolate chip cookie to go. Can’t wait to try it later. Great atmosphere, very clean and relaxing. Everyone was very kind and pleasant. We will definitely be back....
