Being my first time there, I was surprised at the interesting specials including the spicy chicken and waffle I ordered. It was Saturday, and understandably crowded, so the wait was long. I anticipated the traditional crunchy fried chicken that comes with waffles, but instead it was a thin grilled and seasoned chicken cutlet..disappointing but it tasted pretty good..till I got about halfway through the chicken and realized it was raw. The waitress immediately took it and said she would bring me a fresh plate..cool right? Well I was short on time and asked that it be boxed to go. When I got home and went to eat I saw they gave me a new waffle, but I guess they finished cooking the chicken that remained, and gave me some kind of other breaded chicken with it instead of making another piece of chicken (which was not big to begin with)..and all of it looked gross. Funny thing..the waitress said that the manager made it himself..smh!! I don't know if this is the standard, but I definitely won't be returning! *edit..I did not cut up the chicken, for some reason on top of adding the other weird chicken, they cut it all into pieces..I'm not sure if it was to hide the texture difference or what ..🤷🏽‍♀️

The parking area is huge which is nice for big cars especially when they are busy. They have a front seating area and then a back banquet hall so you won’t really ever have to wait for a table unless they have a huge rush. Breakfast combos are pretty good, they have all the pretty simple egg, bacon, pancake combos that you would want. Service was fast and the waitresses were quiet but always polite. Bathrooms are nice as well, very classy.

My husband and I stopped here for brunch on Sunday. It's a standard diner. I had the special which was a cheese steak breakfast sandwich. With scrambled eggs and bacon. My husband had the chicken fajita breakfast casserole. Mine was good. Unfortunately the casserole lacked flavor. It was bland without any seasoning. We were passing through and thought diner food!

9/24/12: Horrible service, deliberate price disparity, & George Mgr/owner yelled at me and 14 yr old kid trying to place cancer jar at front desk. Went to web site to get #, menu,& placed takeout order for a bowl of soup. Arrived 5pm & no one greeted me at door for 2 minutes & the 3 waitress talking amongst selves mid-way down the dining room refused to walk to front to assist. Then Register lady rang up wrong price $17 not $3.99 for my bowl of snapper soup. Then rang up $7.79 then 4.79. She became fluttered when I showed her the internet menu $3.99 & the hard cover dinner menu of $4.79 & asked why the $7.79. She said I just do what I told- I then asked for manager. While we waited a 14 year old boy that arrived on bike & was waiting patiently in background asked if he could arrange a cancer jar for a friend that was sick. She ask him to leave cause it was to hectic- mind you the empty dinner & the manager coming to front already. Manager/owner George arrived at from & was shown the internet web page price, the in dinner menu price that was higher, & then the other 2 attempts to ring me up wrong. He yelled that the internet menu price just obtained 15 minutes prior was no good & pay the new price. I tried to explain which new price since there was more than 3 versions? - He shuffled papers & said why you make trouble. I said wait- you have the different prices, you chased a kid asking for a cancer jar, & I just want my bowl of soup to go. I suggested why not sort the discrepancies later in back office & could I just have my soup. He refused. I left with no soup & will not return for any business & stated it was a shame since his brother runs a nice restaurant Charlottes down the street. He mumbled. SO I said- great I'll take to social media- he said that means nothing.

UPDATE: 9/27/12 I refused the soup since they refuse to honor the price that was on line when I placed the order. Now they put a charge through on my CC. OK now I disputed it with my CC company & they refund me.

If A business is so BAD that hey ram a cc charge through for their mistake when the product was not delivered- then please NO ONE support this place. Call his brother down street at Charlottes & see if Jimmy will talk some...

3/9/23. Have not been here in years, at least 15. used to be an OK spot. Absolute trash now. Was thinking about here or Nifty Fifties in Folsom but went for the closer spot unfortunately. Went for breakfast. Place seemed to be clean but cold and dark. Service was horrible. Sat down and asked right away if I was ready to order. Literally 20 seconds after sitting. A few minutes later came back and asked again. My entire table was not ready. Server proceeded to stand there and stare at us. We were 1 of 3 tables sat in the entire place. It is not like it was busy and she needed to turn them quickly. She stood there for a good 2-3 minutes waiting. Hips on the table just looking at us. At that point we were ready to just go ahead and leave but against better judgement we stayed. Prices were also more compared to other local places. Not a big deal as long as portions, quality, and taste match pricing. They did not. Food is way overpriced for what you receive. Food has no flavor to it. Taste was horrible. Sandwiches are mostly the bun. Skillets are small. Bacon was overcooked. Potatoes tasted like cardboard. Ketchup is your best friend here. The entire time another server was barking order to our server about how to do things, and this, and that, and complaining. I am not sure who he was but obviously he was in charge. You gotta pull her aside and say those things quietly buddy. Shame because growing up and into my mid 20s this was a good place to go. Moved away and this is my first time being back and it will be...

It has been 20 years since we’ve been to the Country Squire Diner but as we were in the area we thought we’d stop for breakfast, we will not return. We should have realized that with only about 5 tables occupied, it wasn’t going to be a good experience. I do not like to leave unkind reviews so I decided to call and speak to the manager to discuss the issue but I was told he wasn’t available, the man I spoke with was very abrupt. He said come back and we’ll fix it. I wanted him to understand what the register charges doesn’t reflect the prices on the menu but he didn’t want to hear me out. First issue, since when does the server take the order, COOK the waffles and serve the food? My husband was finished his meal before I got my second waffle as the first waffle was undercooked. The server was very nice and trying his best. The waffle maker is on the counter back by the restrooms and the waffles are not made back in the kitchen. The food was OK. The second issue was that the price charged on the bill was not the charge advertised on the menu. We were charged $2.00 more for each meal plus tax. The cashier didn’t understand what I was trying to explain so I got a menu and showed her. Even after she adjusted our bill we were still shortchanged and walked out. Hopefully, management will see this review and start charging the correct amount. I wonder, how many people walked out of this diner not even realizing they were...
