We came on a sat evening. Sat us right away and gave us full menus. We ordered our drinks, although they took a while to come, it was fine. We wanted to order right away because we were going to a movie (2hrs) after. When our server came to take our order she said “I assume you know we’re only serving chicken wings and burgers right now due to being short staffed?” We were not told this when seated so our server gave us a couple more minutes to decide. We ordered our food and then.. nothing. An hour later, we checked in with our server when our food would be ready and she said 30 min yet. We waited another 30 min and decided we needed to get going to make our movie in time. Our server went to check on the food and said it was ready now. It wasn’t, not completely, 1 meal (of wings) took another 5-10min because she decided to tell us then that they were out of the sauce ordered for the wings. We all finally got our food and started eating. 2 orders of traditional wings, 1 boneless wings and a breakfast burger. Boneless wings and burger were ok. The traditional wings were very dry/overdone. I would say comparable to jerky. I couldn’t finish mine, but since the boneless were ok we ended up sharing those. They were more like chicken strips, so decent sized and cooked fine. Overall, it was not a good experience. Not blaming our server as she was more the middle man. I get places are short staffed like everywhere else right now. The place wasn’t not overly busy but couldn’t handle that - other tables or getting one meal at a time or one table didn’t even get 1 persons meal until we’ll after everyone else was almost done. Picture is of a bite out of a...
Read moreWe recently visited this restaurant with a large group (10 people, split across two separate checks of 5 each). Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant, but I need to offer a note of CAUTION regarding billing practices.
Both of our separate parties were charged an automatic 20% gratuity due to the size of the overall group. Unfortunately, this policy was not disclosed by our server when we were seated, when we ordered, or when the checks were presented. Because the automatic gratuity was not clearly pointed out, we added a standard tip on top of it, resulting in an unintentional 40% tip on each bill.
While I am happy to tip generously for exceptional service, the service we received was slow, requiring us to get our own silverware and request drink refills repeatedly. The service certainly did not warrant double the standard rate.
As someone who works in the service industry, this lack of transparency felt highly deceitful and was a very disappointing way to end an otherwise decent meal. Management should ensure servers clearly point out the automatic gratuity on the bill to prevent this from happening to future guests. Please double-check your bill if you are with a...
Read moreThey say they do 'The Simple Things Done Great' but that's not what I observed on a recent visit. I dropped in on a recent work trip as I was staying in the hotel.
The menu was oven and fryer only at 8 PM. A patron that came in when I did ended up leaving after he ordered a drink due to not being told.
I was given a tall beer although I ordered a short.
The bartender that served me finished her shift without checking in to see if I wanted another drink or to tab out.
She also told another patron they would get boneless wings because they're better though they ordered bone in.
It took 15 minutes for the remaining sole FOH staff to close my tab despite my empty glassware and card set out indicating I was ready to pay and tip. To be fair she did apologize for the wait, but she shouldn't have had to.
Good service isn't complicated and I say this as a long time service industry worker. If service is any indicator toward food quality I'm glad I ate elsewhere....
