El Rancho — Restaurant in Marshall

I ordered a “cajun fajita,” which promised crab, scallops and shrimp. I got more vegetables (bell peppers, onions, etc) than seafood. Of the seafood, the majority of it, i’d say 80%, was imitation crab. Cut in thick slices, which I didn’t mind. The issue was the ratio. The other 20% consisted of shrimp. Each shrimp was about the size of a dollar coin or a quarter, i wouldn’t call it “jumbo shrimp,” if that is what you’re looking for. Shrimp is not tender, rather bland and towards the dry end, if that was even possible. I did not find a single scallop in my dish.

Otherwise, the portions were ok, the service was decent - food was served at a reasonable speed. There is a personality hire of a waiter, who checks up on you regularly, which means no empty water cups. I did ask for a refill of salsa which the waiter forgot about.

Felt like there was no AC. at the time and day i went, it was about 80 degrees fahrenheit outside. Felt about the same inside. i think the ceiling fans were going? They weren't doing too much for me.

Im quite disappointed in the lack of scallops, for a dish that promised such on the menu.

Tried to have a late lunch with a friend from out of town. My friends Chimichanga was not hot, barely warm. Ask the server to please take it back and bring two hard shell beef tacos......thinking it wouldn’t take as long. A minute later a man came to our table yelling (not talking) that she was not getting two tacos, the food was hot and continued to yell how the food is cooked, how they have a hot steam table and proceeded to tell us if he did bring out two tacos be was sure we would send them back too. We sat there stunned at this mans constant rant.......he didn’t introduce himself, ask what the problem was.......no “customer service” etiquette at all. Very Beautiful laid back true Mexican Restaurant. Plays the best old school Mexican Music. Total polite caring Customer Service that you can find only in a real Mexican Hispanic Establishment. Just chilling out overnight. The servers are awesome, his name is Martin. Very nice Individual. Good young man that has a great attitude and knows how to treat people great. The lady here who is named Yury is totally awesome as well. Great gal. This is a very righteous Establishment!
