I don’t usually let one bad experience ruin my desire to go to a restaurant, but I’m beyond disappointed with our take-out order tonight.
I buckled the pho in for safe travels, but the cheap containers they use and the fact the staff stacked multiple containers on top of the cheap containers caused my green curry to break through the pho broth. I realized this as I was driving and the bag was filling up with broth. Not wanting the broth to ruin my leather seats, I set the tied bag on my lap and the scalding liquid burned me as I sped home. I was on a mission and it was too late to turn back. We called and they said they’d remake it. I’ve worked in many restaurants and if someone’s order was completely effed up, we would completely remake it, maybe throw in some extra meat (in this case), or a gift card. We drove an extra 30 minutes while my rice got cold and the crime scene of broken containers sat in our kitchen. No apology, just a comment about how they just switched containers bc people were complaining about the old ones.
Maybe if that many people complain, you could fork over some money for containers and charge an extra dollar. My favorite pho place in Iowa charges like 25 cents for a box that they put their sturdy to-go containers in.
Also, the green curry wasn’t even green curry. It was chicken and mostly veggies with some curry seasoning and a bit of broth. My s/o said the pho was flavorless. It’s a bummer because we’ve had good experiences the past two or three times we ate there and were glad to have a pho place in town. It feels like I wasted money and a lot of time for mediocre food and...
Read moreDrove by this place many times and finally made it a point to drive down and stop in. Very extensive menu...there's so much that looks very good but we had it mind to get the Pho....it did not disappoint! The waitress was extremely helpful in helping us navigate the menu and the choices. We actually started with the Chicken on a Stick with a sweet chili sauce dipping sauce...very good! Crispy yet tender chicken. The Pho Do Bien wasvthe Seafood Pho choice for me...a variety of seafood and noodles was delicious and served in a HUGE bowl! The Pho Tai Bo Vien was the Meat Pho choice for the Mrs..and it was awesome and plentiful as well. Come hungry as the portions are very generous and delicious...we added some of the various sauces that are available on the table such as hoisen(?spelling) and siracha....if you use the secret red sauce that's on the table be very careful...it'll tickle your taste buds for sure ❤️🔥 We'll...
Read moreActually I was having lunch across the street at Oceans Chinese Restaurant. I had lunch at Jack's Pho' House a few weeks ago with a friend and the bill was 31 dollars and some change. My gentleman friend and I had a very nice meal at Oceans and the bill was just over 16 dollars. Jack's Pho' was a bowl of lack luster broth with 5 baby shrimp and a plate with some bean sprouts on it. My friend had a chicken dish. It consisted of a few pieces of dry chicken and raw green peppers drenched in some kind of brown sauce. I asked the server if I could try a sample of their sticky/sweet rice. She said it wasn't possible because it was already portioned. Sigh. It's too bad. I won't be going...
