I had a friend buy me dinner for helping out with some work. I had the grilled steak, it was supposed to be cooked medium, it was raw!! I am somebody with moderate cooking experience, I worked in a restaurant for a couple of years, and I enjoy cooking at home. Let me say this much, anybody who is cooking steaks, should be able to press with their finger and tell the doneness of the meat. I pressed this as soon as I open my box and I knew it was going to be purple,(raw!) I tried cutting the steak in the supplied box and it was so raw and undercooked, it was rolling around underneath my knife. The steak was not seasoned at all, I could not taste any butter, garlic, salt or pepper. The box contained some dried potatoes that resembled home fries that have been under a heat lamp too long, and a small container approximately 1 1/2 tablespoons of some kind of white sauce. Whatever it was it separated in its little container within this cardboard box. The vegetable besides the potato cubes was asparagus and they were approximately six that were delicious. Honestly guys, talk to your cook. I could seriously cook a steak better than this and tell the doneness when I was 14 years old. Now I know not to go there.
Hello, I just read your response to my review, I am sorry that you feel like I was being insulting, what I was being was honest. If you cannot support the delivery of a quality entrée via take out, perhaps you shouldn’t be doing it at all. I don’t care what title your executive chef holds, the steak was raw, sorry you cannot take this criticism but I’m telling you a fact. It’s not my opinion, the steak was raw, that was a rookie mistake to send it out like that. And for the record I never said that you “used heat lamps“, what I said was the potatoes resembled home fries that would have been sitting under a heat lamp in some roadside diner. And if you think I’m harassing you, please leave another response to this review, and I would be more than happy to meet you in person and talk with your “executive chef“, this dinner was deplorable. Now, having said that I still feel that I am not being insulting , Or ignorant. You on the other hand are making excuses for poor quality control, you are the one that is “ignorant“. Oh yes, and one last thing. As I told you in the beginning of this review it was a gift, from a friend that I was helping move for nine hours that day. The last thing I felt like doing was going downstairs to get my phone off the charger and give you a terrible review in front of somebody that took pleasure and feeding me after working so hard for them. Have a...
Read moreI attempted to go to Liv for my birthday this last Wednesday 9/14 and had a horrible experience. Tried to call ahead- no reservations for parties less than 5. We got there about 6:30 and were told it was a 30 minute wait, which was to be expected so I had no issue with this. After about 40 minutes had gone by without anyone checking in, we asked the hostess for an update. She forcibly “asked” us if we would be OK sitting at the bar behind the door- which on a normal night I would have done no issue- but it was my birthday and I felt like a table after 40 minutes of a 30 minute wait wasn’t an unreasonable request. I said to the hostess “we’ve already been waiting 40 minutes, will it be much longer for a table? We’ll wait” and she flippantly replied, nearly cutting me off, “Yes- MUCH longer!” There had been a 2 top table open for about 25 minutes in the dining room at this point, which we could see from the waiting area, so I asked about this due to the wait and lack of tables apparently available. The hostess said “oh no, ‘they’ won’t let me seat anyone there.” Needless to say, we left and went to KKaties where the service was great, quick, and friendly. This was extremely disappointing because I loved Fat Cat (where chef previously worked) and also Hola. I was so excited for a special birthday meal and was treated like an afterthought. Could have ruined my day but thanks to KKaties for...
Read moreAfter doing a lot of work around the house on Saturday we all decided to go out for dinner. Decided to try Liv. This was our first time trying the restaurant. Basically, food was good. Cocktails need work. Atmosphere was nice. Service was great. We ordered the charcuterie board as we sat down. Good but it was a bit on the pricey side for what we got. Drinks were subpar. Coconut margarita was ALL lime juice and just a hint of coconut and couldn’t taste the tequila. The pride day drink special was missing something which we couldn’t put our finger on. For dinner we ordered fish and chips. Good except the fish was thin and dry. Fries were good. The buffalo spaghetti squash Mac and cheese tasted good but presented as a plate of orangey brown pile of slop. We took most of it home. Yesterday I put it in a pie crust, mixed in a simple egg custard, covered it with cheese and baked it. It turned out delicious!! My suggestion would be to work on the presentation of this dish. Serve it in a crock or bowl with melted cheese on top or in a simple pie crust. The last thing we ordered was the veggie wrap. It was simple but delicious. Will we return? Of course. We will...
