I have been a loyal Dutch Bros. person for years!!!! I frequent many locations each week.
When in Martinez, CA a couple times per week, I have always stopped by this Dutch Bros. on Alhambra to get drinks for me and the family and tipped quite generously. However, the last couple of times, has not been a good experience at all. After ordering my Dutch coffee before a 2 hour drive ahead of me; (and supposed to also be going out to dinner), I pulled out of their parking lot and found that they did not put the lid on all of the way and my coffee dumped all over my pants and shirt. Yes, I felt that heat and stickiness of the drink all over my legs. Needless to say, my drive was not a pleasant one and, I had to cancel my dinner plans because I was now wearing a mocha all over me!
Today, Thanksgiving day, after another 2 hour drive, I stop into Dutch to get my usual. After waiting in line for about 15-20 minutes of a double line might I add, (also while watching a person who works there bring drinks out to cars), I finally get to the window, only to be told, āweāre closed.ā ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? No one could have told me that while I was sitting in line that they would not be taking my order? Maybe closing the lines could have helped to let people know they were closing, but both lines were open when I pulled in! š” Maybe they closed it after me because there was no one in line behind me? What kind of poor customer service is that, that would not serve the last car? Thatās pretty messed up! Donāt get me wrong, I understand itās a holiday and they want to get out of there, but come on! Donāt make a person wait 15-20 minutes in an open line then say weāre not making anymore coffee, knowing itās literally the last car. Again, that was pretty messed up!
Needless to say, that location has permanently lost my business! Starbucks in Martinez now has a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAmazing. First time ever having Dutch Bros. Had the Strawberry Dutch Frost yesterday, and went with the cotton candy one today. Both times they were free, as the grand opening is not until Friday, August 18th.
Was here yesterday too around 3pm before all the craziness today and was one of few people to get a drink during one of their random test runs, or whatever it was. Came back again today for the friends and family day from 4pm-8pm which the regional operator invited me to attend. Showed up half an hour early at the walk-up window around 3:30pm, was already a group of about 12 high school or middle school students sitting at one of the tables.
Line didnāt form until close to 4PM. Was about 15 people in front of me, and another 35 behind me. Went by very quickly though.. they had two employees taking orders on a tablet in the line, rather than walking up to the window and ordering like I did yesterday. Got my drink in under 2 minutes.
Heard when I was waiting at the walk-up window that initially, there were a few hiccups with the drive thru system or something when they started at 4pm, but looked like it was getting under control when it left around 4:35pm. More detailed review available on Yelp, as well as more photos of...

Drive thru ordering was fast. 2 lanes to enter drive thru and the 2 workers were fast and efficient taking orders and payment. Good customer service by the girl taking our order, who was friendly and gave us recommendations when we asked.
Menu is fun! Many flavors, options to add in toppings like popping boba, mochi bits, soft top. We decided on 3 drinks: iced peach matcha latte, iced strawberry matcha latte, and the tropical sparkling soda.
Only one I personally tried was the iced peach matcha. This was good! Peach flavor is awesome. Peach mixes in nicely with the matcha without matcha being too over powering. I think the drink is a bit too sweet for my liking though. Not sure if they customize sweetness levels here - may be something I ask about in the future.
Daughter tried the other two drinks and said both were amazing. She prefers the Tropical sparkling soda more than the strawberry matcha latte and puts it in her top 10 drinks :)
I prefer tea over coffee, so, overall, not my immediate go to place for my matcha fix. I would come back though to try other drinks like the iced Chai and at least one of their coffees/faves (cocomo sounds amazing) since coffee is what...
