1.5 rounded to 2 stars. We went today after seeing great reviews but were left dissatisfied. We asked about allergens (nuts) when we ordered an eggnog latte with oat milk and the guy working seemed completely confused about what could be an issue. He suggested oat milk would not be safe for an allergy and overall seemed very unsure. I would not (!!!) recommend this place to customers with severe allergies. He also seemed unsure of what teas were available and when we requested a peppermint tea he suggested he could do a black tea with a pump of peppermint 🤨. I ordered a maple latte with oat milk and it did not taste right at all. My drink tasted more like watery coffee with a splash of oat milk and a small pump of maple syrup. Everything is reasonably priced and their bakery goods are made on site just like Grandma used to make these things are as big as your fist if not bigger the cookies can be shared among the entire family and the banana bread and all the other specialties are fantastic. I go here with my son because they have a kids hot chocolate that is safely made just for him. Not too hot so he won't get burned. I really like this place because the people that work there genuinely seemed to be not only morning people but they want to be there and they actually acknowledge us and speak to us with kindness. An experience not just coffee. Im a coffee addict, and let me tell you that there is no other cup like mountain grounds. I work in Walnut Creek and live in Bay Point but theres still only one coffe shop I go to now. If you haven't tried them, give them a chance and youll never turn away.
