Tried bynum’s for the first time last night. It had to be the best customer service experience we’ve had in a long time. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive and she even brought over the owner when we said it was our first time and she was equally friendly. I don’t remember the last time a restaurant asked my name and used it throughout the meal. The restaurant decor and vibe is a bit like stepping back into the late 80’s early 90’s lots of wood, lots of cowboy decor. Brought back memories of trips to ponderosa as a kid. There wasn’t a whole lot of space though so the tables do feel a bit cramped together and you’ll definitely hear every bit of the surrounding tables conversation. Which isn’t always a bad thing and can be quite entertaining. They do have a very simple menu and you won’t be finding any vegetable options here except for the salad. The French onion soup wasn’t what comes to mind when I think of traditional onion soup loaded with onions and capped with cheese. Bynums soup is more broth less onions which is honestly how I prefer it (I scooped out my onions in one spoonful and gave them to my bf) and the cheese is in the bottom. I could’ve sat and dipped bread in it for my entire meal and been completely satisfied it was so good. I opted for the cottage cheese and my bf got the salad and both were good. I enjoyed the timing between the soup, salad, and entrees as well. I got the filet and my bf got the ribeye. Both were cooked correctly at medium rare and tasted great. Was it the best steak I’ve ever had, no. But it was a really good steak and worth the price. And it’s not too often you even have the option of a 12oz filet on a menu most places. The potato was also cooked to perfection. I do wish they had an option for a loaded potato since it is the only side but they did offer sour cream for it. The sour cream for the potato came in a paper cup that was difficult to handle so I would’ve liked to see it come in a real ramekin. I did find myself wishing I had a small bread plate or larger plates in general to be able to spread food around a bit more. Also at this price point I would’ve expected linen napkins vs paper. For two of us the bill came to 125.00 ish. We did get the larger portions of our steak cuts. I do recommend getting there early. There were probably 6 cars waiting for them to open at 5pm on a Friday night when we arrived and the lot was completely full when we left. All of that said we left very full and satisfied with our experience and plan on returning...
Read moreI really hate to leave a 1 star not my style but Google reviews let me try this place so utterly disappointed My very first time to this steak house quite confused by the fact that they do not know how to cook a Pittsburg style steak nor do they want to cook a steak the way I requested it I was told that it’s too difficult they did however attempt to cook it that way I returned my first steak because it was not cooked properly supposed to be medium rare on the inside and chard on the outside not well done wow not even close second steak was OK not terrible one extreme to another with a very thinly cut piece Walmart has thicker steaks then what was put on my plate for half as much money should I cooked it myself Texas corral has pretty substantial meat I also ordered the shrimp appetizer because I only have two appetizers on the menu literally tasted freezer burnt I was informed that they don’t normally waste food by trying to cook steak outside of the basic because it never turns out Well never have I ever had a steak be this far off. to me if you were steak joint you would know how to cook a ribeye and not charge $50 for a steak that is half the density of every other state joint But wait for $75 you can have crab legs really red lobster doesn’t charge half that much and you get exactly what you want not to mention the service is a lot better you don’t sit there for 20 minutes waiting for somebody to walk by and ask what you want the establishment that was literally serving four people explain to me why there was no service to be had Don’t ask for butter they’ll look at you like your crazy Possibly in their time they had great service maybe even amazing food you can’t charge that type of money for such little selection and ridicule me for requesting a steak that I can get at any steakhouse in the country cooked the way I want it without the judgement $75 bill for crab legs I sure hope that they expand their menu you can’t charge is kind of prices for such lackluster food. French onion soup with a glob of cheese wow militarily food had them beat on even that Baked potato was less tasteful then Wendy’s So tragic

Read moreLet me start by saying the food was absolutely fantastic! we arrived without a reservation on a Saturday night, and had no wait for a table. However, the hostess must have mistook me for someone else because she greeting me by saying something along the lines of " I haven't seen you in such a long time" followed quickly by an unwanted hug. I replied mid-hug with "oh, uh... I've never been here before...." But the hug did not end, instead it continued for an uncomfortably long time. She finally released me from her grasps and said "oh! Well welcome! You're so beautiful! I'm so glad you came! Let me take you to your table!" The isle way was pretty narrow but just around the corner we were shown out booth. While she stood there going over things like our options for salad dressings and how the blue cheese dressing is made in house and so on, she stood next to me and continuously rubbed my back and shoulder... For what felt like a lifetime! But was probably more like a good and solid 2 minutes! I was extremely uncomfortable. But once the succubus-in-training walked away, everything else was great! Our server was very sweet and attentive. The steaks were cooked almost perfectly!!! I ordered medium Rare but it was closer to medium... But it was great! My husband ordered his rare and his came to the table cooked perfectly with a great char crust to it! Both were amazingly seasoned and juicy! Unfortunately, they don't offer any real options for sides at all! The meals come with a side salad, beef onion soup, and a baked potato. If you want anything else other than that, there is only cottage cheese or applesauce to choose from and NOTHING else. Our server told us that the menu hadn't changed since 1982 if that tells you anything... The prices were expensive for what we expected. Google has an outdated menu which shows prices being between $25-30 per steak dinner, but it's more like $35-50. On the upside though, the portions were huge and seemed to be even larger than expected! In total without the tip, a steak dinner for two came out to roughly $112. Would absolutely go back if I knew I would be safe from unwanted physical contact and...
