A Bagel And ... — Restaurant in Maryland

This morning we stopped in for breakfast and I'm leaving a review because I have to be honest, I'm not a huge bagel person. My husband loves breakfast sandwiches so i agreed to go. BUT this was the best bagel I've ever had. I got the asiago bagel with veggie cream cheese. He got an everything bagel and strawberry cream cheese. The asiago bagel was SOO cheesy and flavorful, soft and pillowy with the right amount of chew. I hate tough bagels. I didn't taste it, but my husband's strawberry cream cheese had huge strawberry chunks in it and he said it was really fresh. My only issue is that it's definitely fast-paced and a little chaotic inside. By the time we left, line was out the door, which is a good thing for the restaurant and I love it for them. But be prepared to have lots of people squeezing by you and things being shouted. I hadn't had my morning coffee yet and that felt a bit intense, but did not take away from the quality and deliciousness of the food. Taking into account that it was a busy Sunday morning in season, my experience was disappointing. I ordered a ham, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, 2 eclairs and a large coffee which the young girl wrote down on a slip of paper. I paid $20+ and waited. Some rude guy from the back, holding my Oder slip yelled my name and handed me my sandwich. I mentioned that I had other items and motioned to my order slip in his hand. He looked at it and he rudely responded “I only deal with the kitchen “ and he threw the slip in trash. One of the girls overheard, asked what I ordered and got the rest. When this place first opened nearly 20 years ago, it was something special. As the years have gone by I find that every time I come in I’m a little bit more and more disappointed, price has gotten insane, the bagels are good but other than that with all the other options in the area they are at the back of the line, no longer a strong front runner like they were years ago.
