This place was AWFUL ! but if you have no taste buds and enjoy unseasoned food, come here & be served by the owner who does not know how to be professional or take any critism! I got the steak (bistec) tacos and they were disgusting! they had no flavor, i enjoy my meat seasoned well and this just was not what I was expecting after seeing the 4.6 stars. The amount of meat they put on the tacos are generous but the tortillas are so small that i had to take out so much of the meat they shouldve gave 2 tortillas per taco if theyre gonna put that amount of meat. We even had to get salt for the tacos, salsa, guac, and pinto beans. Pinto beans were especially awful as they were plain, even salt didnt help. Its obvious that the owner does not like when people complain because another person in my party had complained about her drink and the owner did not take that lightly. All she wanted was a different drink due to the one she got tasting just like milk. Owner said no refunds bc its a small business but everything is expensive. She ended up giving my friend a different drink but did it with such attitude. She SLAMMED the drink on the counter causing it to spill all over. VERY DISRESPECTFUL. If you look at the reviews, she snaps back at the people giving their opinion about their experience. They need to learn how to cook better or something because at this point theyre just ripping people off by claiming the food is authentic and tasty because its not. Ive been to mexico, i have mexican friends and never have i tasted such awful foodThe people give the good ratings must be uncultured and have bad taste buds so dont be fooled. Some of the food that is shown on the reviews and menu online isnt on the menu in person. we paid $100 for just 3 people and if theyre making that much off a small party, they should be able to afford to satisfy the customers exchange. When we arrived, we saw the pasteries by the front and there was a fly flying around w the conchas and all. I wouldve taken a picture if i knew everything was going to taste awful. Also mind you, dont tip because they add graituity to the check, we had no idea until we saw the bill. Server wasnt that great either, we had to ask for refills when it was obvious we had nothing to wash down the flavorless food. she got $25 in total from me and my friend (2 separate checks) and she did barely anything. NEW REPLY - first of all, i would like to say we did not split the check in 3 ways, my half of the party paid for what we ate while my friend paid a portion and her daughter paid a portion. it isnt my friends fault she didnt like your ‘best selling’ drink because AGAIN it tasted like just milk, AND people can order the drink just because they want to try it not because they know its your best selling drin, how are we supposed to know your best selling drink???? the other drinks were fine according to her hence the reason she bought another. I tried it and let me say it just tasted straight like coffee not even horchata so i dont know what to tell you. as for the discount why would we want a discount when we had just paid for a drink and expressed that we didnt like the taste?? We only started complaining about the food until you said the food is fine and theres nothing wrong with it, we were going to walk out and not say anything. AND it wasnt the barista who gave us the replacement drink when you “caved” it was YOU. YOU slammed it on the counter and it spilled when you did that, you make yourself seem so kind to your good reviews but when someone write a bad one you just snap. Its not a good look for a “small business”. As for us criticizing the food before we even order, dont lie. we didnt complain at all we were having a hard time figuring out what we wanted since what we wanted wasnt on the menu. We complained to ourselves that we didnt like the food. and as i said before we forced ourselves to eat the food ONLY BECAUSE WE HAD TO PAY. and your server was nice and helping but wasnt overwhelmed as she did the bare minimum. we are good tippers, but she didnt do much. dont lie

New review- updated space I am so thrilled they reopened and even closer to me!! I've had the Tinga Torta, Egg and Chorizo burrito, all the Tacos and the Iced Horchata Latte and everything has been incredible. They might not have the seating they had but nothing on the menu will disappoint. You really can't go wrong. Incredible service with a smile too! -------review from spring 2023----- Several local friends said this as the place to come for authentic, delicious food and drink. I finally made the time and I already can't wait for the next time so I can try something different. I couldn't make up my mind so I had the waitress help me and chose her recommendation with out hesitation. I asked for mild and it was perfect. A little bit of subtle heat building up as I ate. Fresh tasting, crunchy chips such a good contrast to the creamy beans and cheese. Horchata latte was a perfect soothing compliment. It was not crowded but the tables were always in rotation. The decorations are colorful and staff cheerful! Music was just right volume too. I'm really looking forward to coming back for dinner sometime.

If you’re reading this, consider yourself lucky for having found this establishment. Casita Linda is a legit gem in the wild. Hands down the best Mexican in this area, bar none, and more than likely the best option in the state of DE. We came in for the coffee and fell in love with everything else. The decor is charming, the prices are reasonable and everything tastes like it was made from scratch and sourced with the best ingredients. You’ll find classic, authentic staples here that you won’t find elsewhere, as well as a handful of the usual offerings. C.L. is a family owned and operated eatery, and you can tell. They’re really friendly and enthusiastic to talk about what goes into the making of any of their dishes, and they are passionate about serving you quality and fresh Mexican food that will make you want to return for more. I specifically loved the cactus (Nopales) tacos, their Iced Horchata Coffees, and the guava empanadas — I’ll miss the salsas when I go back home, too, though.

I was taking a walk when I stumbled upon the marvelous Casita Linda, so I just had to Google it and get the 4-1-1. When I saw the great reviews, I got so excited to finally find an "authentic Mexican" restaurant in OC, until my mother reminded me that "they all say authentic Mexican, and they never are." I did go in and get a coffee but no food, since I just ate lunch elsewhere. That night our family was driving down from Delaware to visit and I suggested we try the Mexican restaurant I found. Everyone began looking at the "safest" options on the menu to choose from, just in case...tacos, quesadillas, etc. We did however, order one of EVERY TYPE OF SALSA on the menu to try with our food, which they probably thought I was nuts, to see which, if any, were up to our very high standards. We were all VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! This food was absolutely delicious, absolutely authentic, and absolutely the best Mexican food I've ever had, aside from my suegra's (mother-in-law) and my own, of course😉 My very American family loved it, even those who are not as familiar with "authentic" Mexican cuisine as myself. My Aunt and Uncle live just outside of Ocean City and said they will be making the drive down to Casita Linda every time they want Mexican food from now on. I really hope it's enough to keep this place around, as it should definitely become a featured attraction for OC visitors. Additionally, I'd be remiss to not mention the amazing service of the family working there, who I assume own it. They were so kind and caring, very happy to be of service, which demonstrates the joy and attention they give to their patrons and business. It is evident they take great pride in their craft, and are deserving of nothing less than 5 stars! Thank you for such a precious gift, Casita Linda.

Update: We came back for breakfast the next day and the food, the care, the attention was unwavering. After ordering, they realized I had been there the night before and we had a great conversation. I spoke about "real" Mexican food and the unconscious cultural bias Americans have toward Mexican cuisine and we should all take a lesson from the grace and care this family provides with their delicious food. If you haven't done so, please be sure to patronize this great establishment and learn a little something while doing so. Be brave! Try the cactus, or nopal(es), that you will find on the menu, you would never know how delicious it is otherwise. Thank you again for the tremendous experience you have provided...

FOOD WAS BAD. EVERYTHING. Only ate it because I knew I had to pay for such bad food. I got the steak tacos and tried both the mild, medium, and spicy salsa and they just tasted bad. didn't even use it on my tacos. The tomatoes in the pico de gallo were soggy and tasted like they were made a different day, id know because I cook. My daughter got the shredded chicken torta and the shredded chicken as explain by the server is BOILED with seasoning but when we tried it, it had no flavor at all. She barley ate anything, we took the food home thinking we'd eat it later but we couldn't eat it again, it was even worse later on. We also got the chips and salsa and the tomatoes were burnt causing the salsa to have a burnt taste and pieces of the burnt tomato in it. We tried adding salt to help the taste but the salt wasn't even enough. We didn't even finish it. The guacamole had too much lime. Pinto beans were bland. The steak tacos I had weren't great either I don't know why the server would say she likes it if its so plain. I asked her about the quesadillas and she made it obvious that it wasn't that great or her favorite. don't come here because the owner is crazy and doesn't like when people don't agree that the food is great, its not. Its bad. They need to reevaluate how they make their food because its a disgrace to say this is authentic Mexican food when most mexicans make AMAZING FOOD. If the owner even is Mexican, then sorry to say you and your kitchen staff just don't know how to properly season your food. The owner is a very nasty person as you can see in the replies to the BAD reviews she needs to take constructive criticism and just do better. Also the hair in the food in the other review is DISGUSTING and I wouldn't have wanted you to remake the food either knowing that...
