Baker's Pit Beef — Restaurant in Maryland

After being newly assigned to the Essex precinct I noticed this hidden gem while on patrol one day. When I finally got the opportunity to stop by I was not disappointed.

I've only lived in Maryland since 2015, so I haven't tried them all, but I will say this is the best pit beef I've had since moving to the East Coast.

Not only was the food excellent, but the gentlemen running the place are friendly, engaging, and really let you know how much they appreciate your patronage.

This place is definitely worth traveling to if you're in the market for a good pit beef sandwich. The pit beef and fries are the only menu items I've had a chance to try, but if they put as much into the rest of the menu as the items I've tried, I'm sure...

First timers to Baker's Pit Beef stand. Very friendly staff. Service was fast.. Grabbed a few pit beef samitches on Kaiser Rolls. (Many bread choices available) Also got a pit beef and ham combo. (Pit Turkey also available). For sides I bought fries and an order or baked beans. The fries were nice and crispy and the beans were good. The meats were hot, and sliced thin and very tender. If you wanna grab an adult beverage or soda to go with your food, stop by Baker's Tavern next door ! The only thing amiss during our visit was a menu. This is a great mom and pop pit beef stand, That has a great local following. My wife and I try to stop by as often as we can. Love the pit beef with tiger sauce and onion., and love the fries. Soo good nice and crispy as they should be, it takes a bit longer for you order but the fries are made to order not just sitting in a pile in the fryer like other places I have been to.
