I gave this establishment a try because it's new and black owned, so I happily wanted to support. I visited on a Friday night and I was very disappointed. Let me begin by saying, the ambiance is very chill and laid back...it was cool though. They were definitely playing the jams (that's the only reason I gave them 2 stars, otherwise it would have been 1 star).
Now, I understand it was a soft opening so there was a limited menu, but I wasn't prepared for how slow service was going to be. We had to figure out on our own it was self seating. There's a booth at front for a hostess and customers were standing there when we arrived, but no one ever came to acknowledge us, so a sign would have been helpful. Moving on, we sat down at 7:00 pm and after waiting for 30 minutes no one took our drink order, so I went to the bar, ordered/paid for the drinks and returned to the table. It was $20 for 2 margaritas during happy hour. We finished our drinks and it was 7:51 pm...still no one had come to the table, even after telling a waitress we were ready to order 10 minutes prior, so we left.
There was one bartender and two waitresses. Some customers had food and were being serviced, but many were waiting at their empty tables. While waiting, I saw a couple of people come in, sit down, and leave after about 10-15 mins.
I'm a firm believer that if you're going to do something, do it right or not at all. Maybe they should have delayed the opening until they were properly staffed. It was a Friday night and I wasn't in a rush, but having customers wait for 50 minutes with no service or acknowledgement is beyond ridiculous. I won't be returning, nevertheless, I wish this business...
Read moreThe restaurant has a bar lounge atmosphere. The colors, and art are warm and inviting. The services was friendly and the drinks were good. I was not impressed with the food. For the price inclusive of the drinks, very over priced for what was provided. They have recently opened, but were missing items like mustard, and lettuce. The food took a while to come out and the presentation was not impressive. The old/bay wings were okay, a little tuff, and no sauce was offered. The sautéed Cabbage was flavorful but a bit dry. The bistro pasta was average and for the price not enough and should not taste like a quick meal I can make at home. The bistro burger had good flavor but very poor presentation. The bun looked smashed, they had minimal fixings like lettuce onion or mustard. The truffle potatoes looked very oily but were tasty however not enough for the price. Overall we enjoyed the atmosphere, we don't mind spending money on good food and drinks as long as what is received is comparison with the price. Will I return? Probably, but I'll give them sometime to get...
Read moreI know that this restaurant/lounge is in its soft opening stage, therefore I think that providing honest reviews are helpful. I went here on a Friday night looking for a quick bite to eat with a friend after attending an event. The ambiance on the inside is ok. The colored lights are a nice touch adding to the lounge vibe. However, the music was entirely too loud. I was sitting directly in front of my friend and I could not hear them. It was almost painful, so I opted to take my food to go. The service was fast and the food was ok. I got the fish sandwich which was nicely cooked and dressed. I would like to try other menu items from here, but will either call ahead and pick it up or go during the day. Love to support our black...
