Dunkin' — Restaurant in Maryland

I stopped in this Dunkin location for the first time, for a latte and a quick bite, while running errands on my day off. Little did I know that such a brief stop at a Dunkin Donuts could have such an impact on my day.

As I ordered, I was pleasantly surprised to see that this location was selling Apple n Spice donuts, which had been discontinued years ago at the Dunkin locations in Anne Arundel County. I almost ordered the whole tray, but I refrained, and only ordered 2. As I waited for my order, the store manager reminded the barrista of the particulars of my order, and the other employees all acknowledged my presence with welcoming "hellos," friendly smiles, and eye-contact.

After I arrived home, I ate the Apple-n-Spice donuts. I was instantly taken back to my childhood when my grandmother was alive, and I used to sit in her kitchen, watching and waiting as she baked apple pies and sweet potato pies during holidays. That moment reminded how the taste or smell of something can take you back to a wonderful memory.

But more than that, a friendly smile, conversation, and kind acknowledgement can have a positive impact on someone's day. So I want to thank the employees of the 6010 Meadowridge Center Dr, Elkridge Dunkin location for the welcoming, friendly service, and for having a positive impact on my day. Not the best Dunkin I have been to. The employees watched me walk in and go to the register, but didn't come to ask me about my order. There was a lady who came out of the back room and walked right past me seeing that I was waiting, and still didnt tell the other employees to come and take my order. It wasn't until a white woman walked in behind me (I was waiting for over 3 minutes) they came to the register. However, as soon as she walked through the door they ran over and came to assist me. Then the same lady came back and asked me about my order, as if I hadn't been waiting for 5 minutes. The older lady who handeled my order near pickup was very sweet and had such a warm smile on her face. Only Dunkin I've been in that didn't offer hot tea. Man at the counter was rude about it too. What's so horrible about a tea bag and hot water? It's even more profitable than coffee because of the much lower food cost. Seriously considered walking out, but I was only in this shopping center because the eye doctor where my friend was having cataract surgery is in the same strip, Dunkin was the only food in the strip open this early, and I don't know the area at all.
