Just left from eating at this establishment. I can say the place is clean and the food was ok. Nothing special but filling and cooked right. My complaint is mainly the staff. Based on other reviews the sweet old lady behind the counter is considered sweet but with my experience from about 30 minutes ago she lacked manners. Walking in my fiancé and I both said hello with a smile. The “sweet older woman” didn’t say a word and walked past us. Neither did the cooks or other staff who did look to see who was walking in. In addition she and another customer after us had a disagreement about sodas being added to order. She was rude and the lady left without saying anything. As we ate our food for the next 10-15 minutes all we could hear is her talking behind this ladies back to her staff. The only person I saw her being extremely friendly with was a white gentleman who came in third. I am African American and the lady she had a back and forth with was Indian. No one wants to walk in feeling like they aren’t welcomed and leave feeling worse. Her good behavior to the white patron was clearly noticeable. My fiancé and I said all of our please and thank yous and left feeling like she didn’t really want to serve us but we were buying so she had to deal with us. First and last time visiting here because were I spend my money I like to feel comfortable and customer experience is everything not just the food. I work in the restaurant industry as a GM and I can say that behavior wouldn’t be tolerated...

Arrived 10:00am on a Wednesday morning. Six people in the cafe in various stages of their meals. We sat in a booth because I needed to support my leg due to my illness. Immediatly a man came from behind the counter and said I had to put my leg down because it was hampering the isle. (It hung past the booth by 3" )! Ok, I see their request (although there was approximently 4' between the booth and table). My wife and I ordered scrambled egg sandwich, mixed well. (Neither of us like scrambled eggs with the whites still visible). Well done bacon on white toast. I received scrambled egg (partly mixed) half raw bacon on barely toasted white bread. I said to the waitress this isn't what I ordered and asked her to make the order. She took my wife's plate but left mine. 10 min later there was no attempt to remake. We asked if it was going to be done and she responded, eggs too expensive, you get it the way it is! I told her I would pay for the coffee but not the eggs. She began to yell that I had to pay it all or she'd call the police. I insisted she call, then she changed her statement and told us to get out and never return! I put the coffee money on the table. She said to leave, I don't want your money and don't come back. I quietly asked her why she was yelling, which she replied, you came here because you can't make this at home! WHAT? I just wanted to have a easy day and find a nice place to...

Just moved into town and wanted to try a dinner near me I ordered an egg sandwich .I wanted it scrambled well-done bacon mayonnaise on them and white toast. They brought me the wrong sandwich. The bacon was raw. The eggs were raw the toast was wheat. I asked them to remake they refused. As I was counting my cash, she threw the receipt up on the table. I handed her my cash and she said not enough more more. I said no I’m not paying for the sandwich. You took it away from me and I refused it because it wasn’t made the way I ask. I put my cash down on the table for the coffee as she screamed to get out. “You people not come back in this place get out!” She yelled. I tried to tell her There’s no reason to be screaming at me. I pay what I owe and I will not pay more, she continued to scream as I walked out the door. I would never suggest anybody to go there. The last word she says you can’t make this yourself that’s why you come here and you get what you get because you can’t do it yourself! Continuing to yell ! I couldn’t figure out the rest of what she said open door wanting to get out from being humiliated over the whole situation. Sorry I don’t have a picture. They removed the sandwich from in front of me before I could even...

While I don't have breakfast frequently, being in a hotel without one included, I decided to look around for a good place for breakfast. Could have easily gone to a big chain, but I wanted to support some local. I happened to find this little diner on US 1. After getting turned around a couple times, I found this diner. The atmosphere is about what you expect for a small diner; nothing fancy but it works. Other than a couple of the stools needing their cushions replaced, nothing to complain about. Could have had scrapple again, but I went with something a little safer. I had the French toast with bacon and added two over-easy eggs to that. The French toast was nice and fluffy and the right amount of cinnamon and powdered sugar. The bacon was nice and crispy and not burned and the eggs had the delightfully runny yolk for a fried over-easy egg. The staff at the diner was very cheerful and friendly and were happy to be there. They do lunch, too, so if you're a little late for breakfast, they do sandwiches, too. If you're looking for a place that isn't fancy and does the basics just right, definitely give Elkridge Deli Cafe a visit.

Simple breakfast and lunch deli, exactly what I've been looking for. Fast, cheap, and they are one of the few places that still have scrapple. I had scrapple, egg, & cheese on toasted croissant. Loved it. Would get it again. Eggs benedict really good. Got the 3 Meat Omelet and sub'd scrapple for bacon. $2 up charge, prolly just get scrapple omelet next time. But it was delish on toast. Home fries (thin sliced, grill cooked potatoes) are ok but their hash brown is better. Vegetarian wife ordered their avocado sandwich from the lunch menu and she said it was pretty good with a little bit of mayo.

The food is always fresh, and its convenient on Saturday mornings on my way in town. However, the prices are too high. $50 for an omelet platter, pancake platter & egg sandwich is HIGH. It was an additional $3.00+ to add 2 slices of deli turkey to the omelet. The food is fair (in terms of taste), other than the turkey bacon that never seems to come out right. It's always over cooked. But the lady at the counter always greets you with a smile.
