This restaurant has recently renovated and changed ownership, again. While it is definitely on the right path - it still has some work to do.
The new layout and decor is nice! I sat at a hightop table on the bar side. However, it felt as though the restaurant was full with only a few families seated.
We were immediately seated and given a rather large and rotating beer menu as well as the "mother's day" menu which was a slimmed down version of the actual menu (I'm assuming to keep up with a large crowd). This would have been fine if that was reflected when the reservations were made and the website /Facebook mentioned this as I was hoping for their bacon wrapped meatloaf, which was not available on the slim menu.
The service was quick for drinks, although the beer was luke warm and a friend's iced tea was very watered down.
We ordered appetizers and salads which came quick and were great! The bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers were excellent.
When ordering entrees, I was informed that they were out of what I wanted (Blackened Cajun Salmon). This was quite odd as it was still early in the evening (6:30PM) and it was a special slim menu! So instead I ordered the Cajun Alfredo Chicken. The others with me ordered a burger, shrimp & grits, and a crab cake sandwich.
The server was very mindful of small substitutions!
Another round of slightly less luke warm beers later, and the food was out!
The best way to describe the food, bland. The Cajun Alfredo was not Cajun at all - no spice and bland. The Shrimp & Grits also had no spice and was bland. The Crab cake sandwich was mediocre and undercooked, but the BBQ Brussel Sprouts were very good! The burger was decent!
The menu feels overpriced for the quality and quantity that you receive. $17 for standard chicken Alfredo.
Overall, for a mother's day dinner on an evening that they were not very busy - it was a disappointment. I will not be rushing back, but will be keeping an eye on the...
Read moreNot our first time here. Each time it’s the same. 4 are seated and given 2 menus. Had to go to Hostess stand to ask for 2 more menus.Handed 1 more. No, but theres 4 of us so can we please each have a menu?? Most unfriendly server. Not even a smile. Cant answer basic questions about menu. Order unsweet iced tea for my elderly mother in law with Sweet & Low, please. No S&L brought. Ask again for S& L. Appetizers delivered still no S& L. Ask a 3rd time all the while the female server making us feel like a total inconvenience. Male server delivered the entrees. Spilled my fries on to the table and into my fresh full draft beer. Says he will bring me a new draft. Has to ask our server to finally bring a new draft. Nothing said about half my fries being spilled on the table. No salt, pepper, nothing on the table. Now have to flag down the unfriendly server to ask for S&P. Went downstairs to use restroom. Each time we’ve used the downstairs restroom. Pitch black no lights on. Can’t see a thing. Had to use my iphone flashlight to use the restroom. Came up and asked for the manager. He was a guy behind the bar. I tell him the restrooms are pitch black dark and no way for me to turn on lights. He just says I’ll have her, points to our server, go turn them on. I say that they have been open for several hours maybe should already be turned on and that I fumbled my way in the dark already. He rudely told me “Well we do have restrooms upstairs you know?”I did not know. Ive always used the downstairs. Not a sorry for your inconvenience. Just snickered at by the locals drinking at the bar. Crab cakes are good but very expensive. All the rest of the menu is mediocre at best. Never. Never. Never coming...
Read moreFirst time eating here and will not return. We had a party of 3 and we were all dissapointed with our waitress behavior. Food was okay, but not very flavorful. I ordered the nachos which were good. The fallston chicken was dry, the sauce was pasty and too thick and the red peppers were slimy. Cocktails were watered down and towards the end of our visit, our waitress Morgan was very unprofessional! After the food was paid for, she returned to the table and asked if there was a problem with the service she provided. We said no, and asked why was she asking. Morgan tells us that the amount we left for her tip was less than the usual gratuity. She was not discreet about it, and spoke loud enough that the people who were sitting at a table across from us were looking at us. I've never been so embarrassed at a restaurant that I chose to spend money at. How dare she decide what she should receive for a tip. She was nice and she was given what we felt she deserved which as a customer, i have a right to decide. We could have left her nothing! We did not ask to speak to the manager, we just got up and left because we won't be returning. I hope management has a conversation with Morgan so that she...
