Hard Shell Crabs & Seafood — Restaurant in Maryland

Crabs tasted like Hot Steamed Fish. I called and ordered large crabs for $85 a dozen and raced to get there very happy that they actually had that size this time of year. I spoke with the owner or the gentleman at the counter who was representing as the owner. I told him of a bad experience I had with another establishment that steamed the crabs clearly in water and not Spices or beer. I told him that those crabs ended up being horrible and that I hope I didn't have the same experience with him. He stood there and smiled at me never mentioning that this is exactly what they do. I know crabs. I grew up eating them in Maryland and abroad .These crabs are not steamed with OLD BAY spice or with the essentials such as beer or aromatics.They taste as if they are steamed and then very littlw spices are added .This does not present a good texture or flavor. Thus the term hot steamed fish. If you're going to charge $85 a dozen for crabs you need to do it right . Otherwise you're insulting the Crabs, the Customer and your Business . Furthermore after I told you what I experienced somewhere else if you knew that this was your protocol you should have said something not let me walk out the door knowing that you had sold me hot steamed fish tasting crabs. .I'm going to post a crab steaming recipe below in hopes that you will take note for...

My Sus was here from Charlotte and she wanted crabs to take back, since they don't have them readily available there. We were greeted by a nice gentleman that went and got the only size crabs they had in stocks, which were med females bc they sold out the day before. While waiting, another gentleman showed up and kept us company while explaining how they sold out the day bf and was scraping the bottom of the barrel on this day. We eventually placed the order and they cooked and seaoned them busy the time we returned 30 mins later. Customer Service was A1. However, the crabs lacked a little. They didn't quite have the Bmore taste/flavor We were looking for. But none the less...they got eaten!! Will definitely come back!! Also, I'd like to mention, the business was clean. I came across Hard Shell Crabs & Seafood, because I googled Crab places near me (Bowie). I was scrolling through all the crab restaurants and I was basing my selection on the reviews. I typically go to Shoreline, but the recent reviews were not so great......then Hard Shell Crabs & Seafood came up on my scroll and the reviews were freaking amazing....

Like really a 4.9 rating....

So I took the HIKE....

It was absolutely worth every penny, and every drop of gas in my tank. I purchased the large males, they were extremely heavy & meaty... And BABY the corn was the icing on the Cake..

The owner was an absolute pleaser and the Customer Service is AMAZING!!! I wish this new business much growth and extreme Success. I will definitely be back. I highly recommend...
