Island Quizine - Silver Spring — Restaurant in Maryland

Food is great but, costumer service bad and food preparation wait time is long. I understand it's a Caribbean restaurant but you are operating in a place where people need their food order to be fast paced. I have ordered 1hr ahead of time only to get there and wait another 30 mins for my food be ready. If it's policy not to get the food ready until payment I understand, but don't take orders only for someone getting there and the food is not ready. Every time I have been inside the Silver Spring location, they take forever to even take orders. Like seriously you need at least 10-mins with a costumers just for ordering 🤔. There got to be a better way to be more efficient with people time. If I had an hour for lunch I will never go there!! Lastly, I ordered today.. sent my Neice to pick up the the food only to realized half the order was missing even after repeating my order twice before having up. She had to wait another 30mins to make the other half. Meanwhile I had hungry guests waiting, this was after waiting 45 minutes before going to pick phone order. before caSmh got to get better we in society where costumer like fast paced. Most of the time most of us don't really have the time to wait around for food, that's why we order out sometime...

I read the bad reviews here and still thought I'd try it. my mistake. like many others have said the girl at the counter was incredibly nasty and antagonistic for literally no reason. I would never advocate for someone getting fired and I understand customer service is a thankless job but... she absolutely should not be employed here.

ordered and was told it would be about 15 minutes so I went over to the Global grocery store in the same shopping center. I ended up taking longer than I thought I would so I asked my mom to pick up my order for me. The girl straight up lied and said I hadn't ordered and said something like "I'm not worried about her order, what are you ordering" to my mother. After I came back to pick up the food myself she wordlessly pushed it to the edge of the counter with a glare, as if I were diseased. Just absolutely bizarre behavior and antagonistic and rude for literally no reason. On top of all that, the food was mid and way overpriced (got the vegetarian ital with veggie chunks and it was dry and all soy chunks. no veggies at all).

Management is also aware of the bad reviews and deplorable customer service but doesn't care/ does nothing...

We have ordered from Island Quizine at least 30 times in the past 6 months and it started off bad, got a lot better (thanks to Dianca) and then recently got terrible again. We usually order through Uber Eats and call ahead to see what is available before placing an order. They are almost ALWAYS out of patties and coco bread by the time 5pm comes around. They are constantly messing up our order with regards to food substitutions due to a gluten intolerance. But, as we are usually placing the order the Uber Eats, nothing is really being remedied. Dianca offered to have our order fixed a few times when we would place our next order, but recently Nicole has been helping over the phone and has not been nearly as kind and is always rushing me off the phone (stating that he has received the order and understands it, but then sends us the incorrect food). The whole is fresh, the oxtail is good. The curry goat is quite tough, and the rice and peas are good. The jerk chicken sandwich is dry and quite bland.
