After an intense week of midterms, my friends and I were eager to find a restaurant that could satisfy our diverse dietary preferences, including both halal and vegetarian options. Our search led us to Kabob N Karahi in Silver Spring, MD, and it turned out to be an excellent choice.
Upon entering, we were immediately struck by the warm and inviting ambiance. The walls are adorned with vibrant photographs of renowned cricketers, creating a lively atmosphere that celebrates the rich culture of South Asia. This unique decor sparked engaging conversations among us, especially for those who are cricket enthusiasts.
The menu at Kabob N Karahi is extensive, offering a wide array of dishes that cater to various palates. As a vegetarian, I was particularly impressed with the selection of paneer dishes. I opted for the Paneer Kadai, which featured tender cubes of paneer cooked in a flavorful tomato-based gravy with bell peppers and onions. The spices were perfectly balanced, providing a delightful kick without overwhelming the senses. Accompanying the paneer was freshly baked naan, soft and warm, ideal for savoring every bit of the delicious gravy.
My friends, who prefer halal meat, were equally pleased with their choices. One friend ordered the Chicken Karahi, a signature dish of the restaurant, and couldn’t stop raving about the succulent pieces of chicken simmered in a rich and aromatic sauce. Another friend tried the Lamb Biryani, which was a fragrant and hearty dish, with tender pieces of lamb cooked with perfectly spiced basmati rice.
The service was prompt and courteous. The staff took the time to explain various dishes and made thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences. Their attentiveness ensured that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable.
In addition to the delectable food, the restaurant’s commitment to accommodating different dietary needs stood out. It’s not always easy to find a place that offers both authentic halal meat dishes and a variety of vegetarian options, but Kabob N Karahi excels in this regard.
Overall, our evening at Kabob N Karahi was a delightful experience. The combination of flavorful food, inviting ambiance, and excellent service made it a perfect spot to unwind after a stressful week. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a diverse and satisfying...
Read moreThis is a cheap place to get subpar Pakistan food. I ordered the lamb/chicken boti combo, lamb chop entree, another lamb kabob, and a side of chicken curry to go. I did not specify how to cook the meat (e.g., rare, medium, medium well, etc.), so mine was cooked well done. The lamb kabobs have very good seasoning with a moderate kick. The meat is tough and very chewy with grizzly fat. I'm not sure if they purchased the lamb meat with the wrong cut (not across the grain) or they did not marinate the meat to break down the lamb fibers before cooking it. The chicken kabob had heat--spicy. For the kabobs, I added olive oil, salt, and lemon and that helped a lot with the taste; but the texture was still not good. The chicken curry has no taste. You can taste the moderate heat and oil, but not Pakistan seasoning. I added butter, lemon, and salt to make this tasty. The lamb chops have scrumptious seasoning. But who wants to tussle with tough meat to eat seasoning? I may try them again and ask for my meat to be cooked medium or medium well to see if that will make a difference. The entrees came with Naan, lentils, and salad. The lentils are spicy and the salad is nothing more than iceberg lettuce with some onions. I did not sample the Naan. As it stands today, their food does not stand out for me as other Pakistan restaurants. The place seemed clean and the service was polite. Plenty of seating inside to...
Read moreWe came here today to try something new. Enjoying a good time here and having a good family dinner. Once we arrived to the front counter while ordering one of the workers was already starting to be disrespectful, not thinking much of it brushing it off while paying for our food. Once our food came we ate our food. And realized we ran out of tandoori bread, we went up to the register to tell them to make us more but him refusing saying how our kitchen is done making it. We were upset about this considering we drove over 2 hours just to have a good enjoyable meal and now we can’t even eat properly because of the kitchens problems. We were never informed about the fact that the kitchen will be closing earlier if we were to be informed we would’ve ordered more, but we weren’t. The coworkers were already being disrespectful towards us after we confronted them about this. Yet they didn’t dare to show and sympathy or consideration for our gratitude to coming here instead sticking to their made up rules that no other restaurant follows. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in their service where it’s to a point just upsetting. If you want to be disrespectful and treated like absolute garbage then go ahead and come here, if not then don’t come for your, own self respect. Will NOT be returning, Thanks a lot...
