Kiyomi Japanese Sushi & Steak House — Restaurant in Maryland

One of our favorite spots on the Harford food and bev rotation. Charming, intimate atmosphere, with lower light and a quiet vibe great for relaxing with amazing food, sipping a good beverage (wine, saki and beer) and enjoying some down time. Have been going for a lot of years and think they are consistently elevating their game. Sushi is top quality with lots of choices, two of our favorites are the Monster Roll and Snow Maki. So many great dishes over the years and one of our new favorite is the Seafood Fried Rice. This version is different from every other version I've had, and much better! It seems more steamed and sticky compared to the usual hard and oily versions. I cannot get enough of this new favorite of ours. Staff super-friendly and very polite, and the sushi guys are hard working to plate some amazing fresh rolls. ALWAYS enjoy our visits!...

We ordered delivery from this wonderful restaurant a few days ago and it was all so delicious. It was a large order and it arrived in a timely manner. The food was carefully packed and the presentation was beautiful. All of the sushi was delicious and the hibachi steak and chicken was really good. Everything was good, including the tofu and the fried rice was very good. Each entree came with miso soup and salad which was great too! We were all so happy to discover this new Japanese restaurant and will definitely be ordering again soon. The delivery man was so courteous and I really wished I could have invited him in but because of the current conditions, we couldn't. We just wanted to say thank you very much and let you know how much we appreciated all your preparation and cooking!...

I would pass on this place. I think the high reviews on here are either paid for or the cooks are entirely different now. We spent over $150 over all with 20% tip. The hibachi meals were kind of bland and no where near worth $25 a piece. The shrimp lo mein was so bland and tasteless that I am actually angry about spending $14 on something we left on the table. The overcooked and tasteless shrimp were picked out because if I’m spending $14 on a dish, I’m picking out the shrimp at least. The coconut shrimp appetizer was bland, chewy shrimp with tasteless breading and thin coconut sauce. The sushi was ok. The general Tso’s chicken was actually one of the best that I have had.
