Komida was so delicious I had only come in to get a drink because I had ordered food from Thelma’s just a few steps away. So I got a mango smoothie to go with my food. As I was waiting on the food I’m sipping the smoothie thinking, “man this is good”. Naturally it made me wonder about the food. Now Thelma’s was delicious but the portion sizes were a little smaller than expected for the price and what the pictures say. BUT! It was delicious. I went back to Komida and decided to try the lumpia…. The mixed batch was 10/10. So good It made me curious about other items 😂. At this point I am in full big back mode but nonetheless, I got the Halo-Halo next. Next time I’ll get the lechon kawali because I was conflicted on what to get between the two and went with the Halo-Halo which wasn’t my favorite thing of the day I believe it’s just too much going on for me a lot of different components but they were all good on their own. But Overall Komida was delicious and Jenn who worked the front was great as well! She helped me order and pronounce the food. I will...
Read moreIt was nice to see another source to get Filipino food. I was able to get my favorites: Dinuguan, pinakbet, and lumpia.
Unfortunately it’s located in a sketchy broke down mall, but it’s a typical fast food eatery, which I don’t mind. I don’t know if it’s because of its location that the rich and unique flavors of Filipino food has to be diluted to adapt to an American pallet, but I left a little unsatisfied. I think the pinakbet need more patis or alamang and the eggplant was a little spongy. The dinuguan was a little “thin”, it wasn’t very dark, and could have used some spicy 🌶️ vinegar…. And finally, I like peas and carrots in Chinese or Japanese fried rice, but I don’t think it should be in GARLIC fried rice.
But… I ate ALL of it because I didn’t have time to go out and get ingredients to make it myself. The service was good and Everything tasted fine, and I’d probably come back again, but you just need to know what to expect.
I hope for the best for this establishment.

Read moreIt's been years since I've had Filipino cuisine. I stumbled upon this restaurant in a fading mall, because there are a few good restaurants left inside.
They have a hot table as well as made to order dishes. I got the Beef Kaldereta and the Adobo Chicken from the hot table. It was a combo priced at about $14 for 2 entrees & double rice. I also ordered the Lumpia (like egg rolls) & Pancit (Rice noodles, veggies & meat if you want it) which was cooked to order.
It was all delicious. The memories of flavor from the Lumpia & Kalderteta, so good!! The meats were fork tender and "fall-off-the-bone", the flavors from herbs & spices well defined (bay leaf still present in the sauce). There were plenty of veggies in a FULL BOX of Pancit & the Lumpia were crispy & fresh.
