I have been going to this restaurant for 15 years. The food is excellent and all the staff was very polite up until tonight. I have never been so disrespected in my life.. if I could give negative stars I absolutely would. After being sat and waited on by the server ALFREDO, I was trying to get his attention for a refill. Since being me and my friends were sat directly across from the kitchen, I looked over to see him hanging tickets and made eye contact with him to which he nodded to let me know he noticed I was trying to get his attention. He then proceeded to pick up a broom by the Bristol side and started to attemp to retrieve something behind a kitchen appliance. After about 2 minutes and help from fellow employees. He put the broom back right side up and headed directly to our table! This is when I was let him know I did need help and wanted to know if he was going to wash his hands first. After saying yes he would he proceeded to ask if we needed anything else to which I said I asked for another refill to which he answered he wasn’t talking to me and walked away , then on he had a attitude . So as we are feeling uncomfortable at this point getting ready to pack up, he bring a refill and I assure him I wasn’t paying for this considering how I tried to ask and he told me he wasn’t speaking to me. So then he steps back and angrily state that “if you are trying to get a discount you won’t” and walks away. At this point we are astounded, we call the manager over to discuss this to which he tell us “he tried” to talk to ALFREDO and he “ didn’t know what was wrong with him” so I asked for the owners info to make a formal complaint which I was denied. So here comes Alfredo ago walking past the table and throws the check past the baby who was sitting in the high chair head!!! To say the least I will never go back and no it is not all of the staff, but to allow anyone to work there who treats you paying guest so poor and to try to intemedate women is...
Read moreMy wife and I weren't having the best of days and headed out to aimlessly search for somewhere to eat and hopefully raise our spirits, we drove near Plaza Garibaldi and I was struck by the thought that their staff is family oriented, happy, and friendly. We were greeted with a smile taken to our table and had drinks chips and salsa in short order with smiles all around. Our day was improving from the start.
We ordered the Spinach Dip for the first time and my wife enjoyed it, I would have preferred that the spinach leaves be thinly cut before adding them to the queso. She seemed to look at the long wilting leaves as a game while I considered them a way to get queso on my shirt.
Sadly I don't recall her dinner, mine was Fajitas de Camaron the tortillas, onions, peppers, sour cream, and guacamole were all as expected and quite enjoyable. The shrimp were mildly disappointing, they appeared to have been parboiled or steamed and then placed briefly on the grill. They didn't have the firm dry texture of raw shrimp that have been grilled.
It can seem a bit chaotic at times as its not uncommon for anyone passing by to check your drinks, as if things are well, take empty dishes away; however, Plaza Garibaldi made us feel welcome, relaxed, and well...
Read moreI was a bit upset with my visit this evening. In the past I’ve had no issues with this restaurant – I find the staff friendly, welcoming, and the food delicious. Today when I went with my family to have dinner I was informed I could no longer create my own burrito, tacos, etc.; that they could only be ordered as they were written on the menu. I find this daunting as I’m vegan and substitutions are, essentially, the only way I can make my meals work.
Flustered, I left the restaurant after asking for the check for the drinks and chips (the server told us not to worry about the expense, which was appreciated), but when I wanted to voice my concerns to a member of the management team I was told a manager wouldn’t be available for another 30 minutes as they were on break. I respect the fact that they aren’t readily available to answer any and all questions (everyone deserves their 30 minutes/ 1 hour) but not having a second in command who could work to either rectify the misinformation or update me to changes in policies/accommodations compounded my frustrations.
My business there is lost but only because there is no leeway with which I may work. So this place can still be considered vegetarian friendly but not...
