Sadly giving this two stars. We were so happy to find this restaurant and couldn't wait to try it out. My Husband's family is Ghanaian and he was happy to find somewhere we could get spinach stew. We ordered the spinach stew with rice (one with chicken), beef patty and plantains. The rice was incredibly hard and tasted days old (as much of everything else did). The stew itself was delicious but the rice and sides were not pleasant at all. The chicken was hard and not good at all. I could hear all of my food being placed in the microwave to be reheated to prepare the order which was very apparent in the taste and disappointing considering the price was not cheap by any means. The beef patty like everything else was microwaved but also frozen which I can buy at the grocery store for a couple of bucks. The service was extremely friendly and the establishment was very very clean inside which is another reason Im sad this wasn't a better food experience. If the food was prepared a little more fresh and not reheated using the microwave I see this place being a home run and a place we would probably frequent however with the lack of freshness and overuse of the microwave along with the steep price we probably won't return.
In response to the owner: We were some of the 1st customers of the day as the restaurant had just opened and the food was already being microwaved to serve to paying customers? This tells me that the food was prepared the day before or longer and we paid good money for cold leftovers. I understand that you cannot make fresh spinach stew to order but there is no excuse for charging people lots of money for rice so hard you cannot eat it, chicken so hard that it was also inedible and settling on the fact that you are proudly serving and charging lots of money for microwaved food. As I said we would have loved to patronize this establishment but with the lack of effort in serving fresh food we will not be back to spend our hard...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stopped at KSB yesterday after checking the wait for another popular restaurant in the area. We decided to take a gamble since neither of us had ever been here and I'm glad we did!!!! We had the goat platter with rice n peas and plantain, smoke turkey egusi soup and goat peanut soup with 2 fufu to share. The drinks are pricey and smaller, but everything else was to be expected cost wise. The food was piping hot and absolutely delicious!!!!! We chose to sit down and even though it's a takeout spot the cashier was very welcoming and continued to check on us and even brought out our containers as they were cooked, restaurant style. Genuinely some of the most tender goat I've ever had 🥹 and the best egusi I've tasted too. We made it in the day before their last day of takeout orders, and the food is so good I would cater it just for the 2 of us 🤣 man. Ps, idk why all the complaints on portion size! It was big enough for us both to eat at the restaurant and go home and still...
Read moreWhen I tell you I have been searching 2 wks for Authentic Caribbean & African food...Jesus answers prayers🙏🏿 I was at KSB as soon as they opened today. The restaurant is clean, comfy, and quaint. A young gentleman greeted me as I placed my order for curry chicken, peas & rice, cabbage, plantain & joloff Rice w/ baked chicken , veggies. I waited 20 mins longer than expected but when the food is made to order, pipping hot, aromatic spices, tender juicy chicken, seasoned well, nice healthy portions...it is worth the wait. KSB I just traveled to the motherland. This food is an experience and nurturing to my soul. Customer service was excellent. The young man told me it would be ready soon. He apologized for the delay and offered me a drink. Honey I already told my foodie friends. We are nurses and we need food to nurture the soul. KSB I...
