This restaurant is not a Mexican Restaurant. It is a Latin Grill. A very important distinction as their food stands above all the others! The location is in a strip mall worthy of a visit by Guy Fieri of Diners Drive Inns & Dives! It is a little hole in the wall restaurant with an attached grocery store where your ‘to go’ orders can be picked up. The wait staff are all Latino & wonderfully hospitible. The place was busy when we got there & we were the only non Latinos in there, which to us was a very good sign! We were a party of 7 so we got to try a variety of items. The homemade guacamole is not made table side but it is very fresh & very delicious! The complimentary chips are freshly cooked & served warm along with the homemade salsa. Our entries were chicken enchiladas, chicken tacos, ground beef tacos, vegan tacos, a chicken quesadilla, chicken fajitas & a steak tortes. All of the tacos are made from 2 handmade corn tortillas. The chicken tacos only contain fresh chopped onion & chopped cilantro with the lime wedge, grilled “cebollines” & radishes on the side The vegan tacos are all vegetable - grilled onions, zucchini, peppers topped with cilantro, with sliced radishes & a lime wedge on the side. All the tacos come 3 to a serving & they were very delicious! I used some of the table salsa as well as the salsa verde & the homemade guacamole for a topping. The ground beef tacos are the only ones served specifically in a hard shell. The tacos were all a big hit! In fact all of the entrees were either completely devoured or some remnant taken hope for another meal. The steak tortas was ordered by our dear German friend who wasn’t a fan of ‘mexican’ food. She did get it without the jalapeños, avocado & retried beans so it was basically a steak sandwich but she loved it & loved the guacamole & chips so we might have won her over. We did order a flan & an order of plain Plantains to go, both of which were amazing! The star point for all of us with this restaurant was that the food was not greasy which we have encountered in so many ‘Mexican’ restaurants & the flavors of the food really stood out. This is a BYOB restaurant. Complete menu is on their website. Our new ‘go to’ place for GOOD...
Read moreWow. I've only been here once, definitely will be back, but my experience today was way past my expectations.
I love authentic Mexican cuisines. It gives my taste buds a culture shock. I am so glad find one near my house! I ordered a steak burrito (looking for something heavy, just came back from the gym) with extra guacamole5 and a tres leeches dessert. The steak in the burrito was on point! Juicy and tender, combined with the delicious guac, crunchy lettuce and flavorful salsa, I finished the whole thing even though I was about to explode. The tres leches was too sweet for me but that's is just personal preference. When I do go back, I would like to try the Don Carlos, or the El trovador. The atmosphere is nice as well. They a nice tv set up with some music playing in the background, a great place to have dinner with the family. The servers were very cheerful and helpful until the moment we let.
Great food, great service, relaxing...
Read moreI kept hearing this place is great but after trying a couple times I'm not impressed and actually disappointed. 1rst I'm told 25 minute wait for pickup each time. I live down the street and get there after 25 minutes, 1rst time order is cold, next time I order and come after 25 minutes my nachos r soggy. I don't want to sit around waiting for my order but if it's going to be done early give accurate times so my foods not cold and soggy. I tried a chicken enchilada which was good but instead of using Mexican cheese they use feta. I like feta bot not w Mexican cuisine. The queso was extremely runny and dripped all over. Decided to try them again and that's when I got my soggy nachos w feta. The Verde which I'm use to being mild was burning my mouth. The ground beef tacos weren't very flavorable. I miss living down from R&R in ph, they don't charge as much and the food is always on point w...
