This posh establishment, nestled in the heart of Towson, captivates from the outset with its open and inviting space, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.
Upon arrival, the warmth and professionalism of the staff immediately set a welcoming tone. Opting to dine at the bar, I was greeted by a bartender whose expertise and friendly demeanor were as refreshing as the drinks they expertly crafted. The recommendation of the Guavo Margarita was a revelation—a harmonious blend of flavors that was consistently delightful, round after round, easily making it one of the best margaritas I’ve had.
The culinary journey began with a starter of three chicken tacos, served with a soft shell. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, masterfully combining to create a dish that was both flavorful and satisfying. The only minor hiccup was my personal preference for a hard shell, which would have contained the generous and delicious filling more effectively.
The main course, Enchiladas Poblanas with Mole sauce, accompanied by black beans and arroz blanco, was a bold foray into traditional cuisine with a twist. The bartender’s offer to sample the Mole sauce was a testament to the thoughtful service at Mucho Gusto-Towson. The sauce itself was a complex blend of flavors, with a unique bittersweet note reminiscent of chocolate, adding depth to the enchiladas. It was a filling and enjoyable dish, with the option to tailor the experience by opting out of the Mole sauce if desired.
The meal concluded on a high note with the Mocha Tres Leches cake, a dessert that lived up to its tantalizing promotion on the screen display. It was a flawless finale to a meal that was both indulgent and memorable.
Mucho Gusto-Towson is not just about the food; it’s an experience. With good music setting the ambiance from early afternoon, one can only imagine the elevated evening vibes. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for a dining experience that combines great food, a friendly atmosphere, and attentive service. I eagerly anticipate my next visit, confident in the knowledge that Mucho Gusto-Towson will deliver an equally...
Read moreYesterday, we went to Mucho Gusto around 6pm, and we ordered the chicken nachos—per usual—and our tacos (one chicken, one shrimp). When the nachos first came out we noticed they looked a little different, and then realised that they were just lacking in nacho chips. It seems like we were given the last bit of a batch, as most of them were broken pieces—think, bottom of Tostitos bag. We asked our server for a few extra (not realising it was gonna be an extra order), so we were charged for that which isn't a big deal but better communication would've been appreciated. As we continue eating the nachos we noticed they tasted a bit off, but we couldn't figure out what it was. We just knew that they didn't have their usual flavour. Within a few hours of returning from MG, my partner said her stomach was feeling a bit upset but that she just felt a bit full. Around 5am and 6am, my partner and I woke up with stomach cramping, and needing to use the bathroom (diarrhea). Not too long after, were we both vomiting and dealing with fevers and chills. After her third trip to the bathroom, she realised we both had food poisoning. I live out of town and had to cancel two train tickets because I could not get myself together enough for travelling because that's how bad our situation was. We're both super disappointed because we love MG and we always order the chicken nachos. So, it'll be awhile before we return and order with confidence. Management, if you do come across this, I highly recommend reviewing cross contamination rules, regulations, and prevention with your kitchen staff. We haven't been able to eat anything all day and it's...
Read moreI had lunch at Mucho Gusto last week. The restaurant was incredibly busy which resulted in a 20 minute wait for a seat. My partner and I ordered 3 chorizo and 3 steak tacos, respectively. My partner liked his tacos but I was underwhelmed by my own. There was more lettuce on my tacos than there was steak. We ordered our tacos with corn tortillas but the restaurant only served it with one uncooked, corn tortilla. This resulted in the tacos falling apart when trying to pick them up. The steak was also flavorless and tough. We also ordered a starter, the Patatas Bravas, which were very good. I ordered a cocktail (something with blueberries) and, honestly, it was the best part of the meal.
The wait staff (Riley, I believe) and bartenders were great at their jobs and very pleasant.
The food, coupled with the wait staff, would have earned Mucho Gusto another visit from my partner and I. However, there was a table of young ladies beside ours that was incredibly loud. My partner and I didn't complain as the women were at least 3-4 cocktails deep into their meal and we weren't sure how they'd react to a word from the wait staff. They at least tipped the wait staff well. Not something that I'm holding against Mucho Gusto, as they can't choose their patrons, but just stating this as my first visit was not ideal.
Hopefully our next visit to Bmore and Mucho Gusto will result in a...
