I really like this place the food is absolutely exceptional I've eaten here several times with my mother who lives very close by however it seems to me that the food quality has gone down a bit I would have given it five stars back in the day but my past few trips it seems that the food quality is slipping my favorite dish is the lobster crab dip which used to have big chunks of crab and lobster all through it as of the last few times I've had it though not so much also they give you a tiny little piece of baguette for a giant dish of crab dip you only get several little crackers and a tiny piece of baguette with about three pieces on it when you asked for more baguette you would assume that you would get half a loaf or something they charge you a $1.50 and bring you three more tiny slices so I'm a bit disappointed in that I mean there needs to be a bit more bread and crackers to eat this giant bowl of crab dip the fresh fish here is amazing I always get it and highly recommend getting some sort of fish dish you won't be sorry just be aware of this place is a bit expensive and if you get the crab dip situation be aware you're going to need to get at least one or two more baguettes in order to eat what they Supply doesn't really make any sense to me I hope they fix this cuz it's a bit disappointing as good as this dish is you need to have some way to eat it not just spoon it into your mouth overall the quality is good here if they fix the few little issues that they have this could be a five star restaurant but as of right now I can't offer the five stars due to the crab dip going down in quality and the price being so exceptionally High $1.50 for a bag at the size of a small Tangerine is a bit ridiculous especially when you don't supply enough to begin with with the dish. Also last time I was here I tried the gumbo I was not very impressed mostly sausage and Ham gumbo is supposed to have crab and shrimp in it which I did not find any as well as it was very spicy almost so spicy it was almost inedible and not served with enough rice so my recommendation is the gumbo needs an update or it could have just been a bad day this is the first time I've had the gumbo but I was not impressed and probably would not order it again this is another reason that my rating is not five stars but Overall the staff is friendly the place is beautiful on the inside and the food is very good when you get enough of it if they fix the quality issues then I could raise it back to Five Stars this will not prevent me from going back so we'll see if I change my review in the next few months as I go there at least...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve made this āmy spotā for studying at the best or going for happy hour. I want to hone in on the customer service aspect with an anecdote.
I went a few days ago first the first time in months and was greeted by a very friendly host. I went to the bar to get some work done and the bartender Nick was so attentive, I didnāt end up ordering until a little after 3pm and I was there for a few hours prior. Additionally, the replacement bartender was also kind. We talked about several interesting topics and even other people at the joined in the conversation. This is far from this first time Iāve had a pleasant exchange here, even the off duty servers are friendly and welcoming. Basically a chic fil a if CFA had a bar and a full course dinner/happy hour menu that isnāt deep fried.
The food: as a pescatarian when I first went I didnāt think the happy hour menu was inclusive, as it only had two items, however now for about 8$ per dish you can have yourself quite the meal mussels, sushi, flatbread and the wine! Oh the wine is honestly delightful!
Overall review: Food 10/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 (especially when the gentleman is there to play the piano) Service: 10/10 Crowd: 10/10 Dress code: Iāve gone in sweatpants (put together slouchy )and in dresses (date / formal)
Note: They WILL be attentive they are not ābeing funnyā by check in on you serval times~They want to ensure youāre comfortable. The piano is in the bar area. There is no outside food or drinks even if are just carrying it in. š« Bathrooms have three stalls, however thereās never a line when I go and they are always clean š§¼ The bar has TVs and they play sports THANKFULLY no one has screamed or gotten rowdy the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe eat out a lot, and we have never experienced this level of poor customer service. Before placing our food order, we ordered the second most expensive bottle of wine on the menu (which wasn't a lot, but still). The server first brought the wrong bottle, then came out with the correct bottle - which was already uncorked. (Should have been flag #1...but the server said she had just opened it in the back. Never have experienced that either.) The wine was skunked, so we sent it back and actually ordered a more expensive bottle. The server came out and said that after speaking to her manager, since the first bottle of wine had already been opened, we could not send it back. (What's the point of having the taste before a full glass is poured?) We asked for the manager to come out. We also said they can send the wine back to the distributor for a credit. Off to the back the server went again. She came back again after having spoken to the owner about the situation, and she said the owner "wasn't budging." We were nice enough to pay for the skunked wine (regretting that though), canceled our food order, and left. I'm still scratching my head over that whole experience. I'm also perplexed as to why neither the manager nor the owner came to speak with us directly. If they had tasted it, they would have agreed. We're not jerks. I never write reviews, but I couldn't let this one go without publicly acknowledging how awful, awful, awful this customer service was. Always open the customer's wine at the table. Give the customer the benefit of the doubt. Dare I say "the customer is always right?" And have the professional courtesy, manager and owner, to come to our...
