New China House — Restaurant in Maryland

This used to be an easy 5-star rating; I've been a loyal and frequent customer of New China House for about 15 years! They've consistently been my favorite restaurant in this entire area, and the only local Chinese restaurant I patronized-- that's how much I loved the food I used to get. I absolutely LOVED their Monk's menu (particularly the Monk's Beef (seitan) with Broccoli, which I nearly always ordered), and the Crispy Eggplant! The Vegetable Chow Mai Fun was tasty, too. I also always included the Vegetable Spring Rolls and Vegetable Dumplings (fried) with my orders.

Because I'd been ordering the Monk's Beef with Broccoli for so many years, I didn't even know about the Crispy Eggplant until about a year ago... when I promptly fell in love with it, and ordered it repeatedly thereafter (alongside the Monk's). I cannot BEGIN to convey my disappointment when they suddenly stopped offering the Crispy Eggplant. However, I assumed they still had my old favorites... but no! The ENTIRE Monk's category has been removed from the menu! AND even the Vegetable Dumplings have disappeared, too! Alllllll the dishes--the only dishes--I loved are gone! New China House, say it ain't so! Please...

I ordered szechuan style shrimp with spicy green beans, food was not spicy, wasn't hot either, they over charge me too, when I called and said that food wasn't spicy and asked to talk to the owner, woman answered the phone and said that it's spicy to normal people, so she implied that I wasn't normal, and kept going on and on with this. I felt so humiliated because I wasn't "normal " according to her standards. I ordered before from this place and other Chinese places it was always spicy, I don't understand why this woman puts me down like this, she hardly even speaks English. I don't believe that she is a owner of this business. She made me very upset. I think that should be certain screen for who can be allowed to open business in the USA. This business treats USA citizens very badly, they need to learn how professionally operate the business in the USA first before they...

Terrible Experience!! Do not order online! I went to the New China House website directly from the "Website" link provided on Google at 6:30. At 7:50 still no food. Called the restaurant. They asked for my delivery address twice and told me they had the order and it was on its way. At 8:30 still no food. Called again and confirmed the delivery address AGAIN. They said the driver had just left when I called earlier and he should be at my house very soon. 5 minutes later they called back and said the food had already been delivered. They confirmed the address with me again and this time read back a completely different address. Turns out they never received the order because they hadn't paid the Google linked website so even though I received confirmation, it was not functional. No attempt to make things right.
