Nipseys Ft Cheers at 301 — Restaurant in Maryland

I was in the area and decided to stop in to have dinner with my son. It was early (around 5p) on a Saturday so there weren’t many people inside yet. We were greeted and choose to sit at a high top table. The restaurant had a small lounge area, section for live music/entertainment, and tables/chairs, and a full bar. The waitress/bartender was a doll! She was very attentive, efficient, and communicative. She had such a warm presence. We ordered small Caesar salads (which were actually pretty large), catfish bites, crab fries, and wings. Our order came out immediately and was so delicious. The crab fries were a little different than what I’m used to in Baltimore but they were still very good. Overall, we had good food (not great but very good). Even the salad was good lol. Our waitress kept our drinks filled, napkins replenished, and even gave us extra sauces. We literally didn’t have to ask for anything. The restaurant is a little small so I would imagine that weekend nights would probably be packed. It’s a bar setting so it wouldn’t be appropriate for kids at night but we didn’t have any issues in the early evening. The restaurant is located in a shopping center so parking was readily available and free. The building could use some renovations but it seems like they know how to have a good time in there. Hopefully I’ll be in the area again to attend some of their adult events (karaoke, live music etc).

FYI: they do add an automatic gratuity to your bill. I think they added 18% for gratuity but I didn’t mind. I always tip 18-20% for good service anyway. The service was worth it and the food was banging. I really enjoyed my server speaking to both my son and I. She made him feel present instead of skipping pass him to direct all communication through me. My son said it made him feel important lol.

I’m just leaving this place and, MY GOD!! this maybe the worst service I’ve ever experienced. The only thing good I can say is the food was decent. We literally had no server just about and idk if the guy that half way helped us was our server or not. He came over and said someone else was supposed to be helping us but he just going to go ahead and take our order🚩… we ordered waffles… He gave our waffles to someone else and then claimed it was tickets mixed up in the back, so he had to redo our order. This place is just not suite for business!! They kept running out of plates bring them back wet.. they had silverware (forks only) kept running out so then we had plastic. The cups were small plastic cups. It was just all around bad. All the money I paid I only stayed to eat one plate cause they kept running out of food. I’m just very disappointed. It’s super dark when you first walk in also. The people were nice but it’s a big bunch of confusion. This was my experience it may not be yours. The table beside us had a server the whole time. While the rest of the restaurant didn’t! I wish I took pictures but it wasn’t worth it! And to think I found this place on TikTok 😅. Also, before I forget it was so cold in there and it’s 66 outside today. I hate doing this to our black business but there needs to be room for MAJOR improvement. I feel bad to even write this but for $130 this was the worst brunch I have ever went too I’m on the toilet as I type this the place was empty and that should’ve been a sign to leave. When I saw the buffet I was surprised at the amount of food that was there it was nothing on that bar everything was dry and the only breakfast items they had were sausage, grits, French toast and potatoes and it all was no good besides the French toast but they give one piece of bread sliced in half Mac and cheese was not good the noodles were uncooked and it was burnt how could that be possible I had some cabbage it was watered down and it had a bone in it like why is it a bone in cabbage. The only good thing about this place was the server and the crab legs and we could only get 2 for $130 oh and 5 mini shrimp. Never again I wish I could get my money back I even stopped the manager to tell him the food was nasty

In response to owner: Hi, I definitely informed Domo me and my mother had a conversation with him and he offered made to order food which is something we weren’t interested in also others spoke on the quality of the food as they were at the buffet.
