Ordered a latte half almond/half oat milk and was upcharged twice for each. This is a big problem in the cafe industry to continue to take advantage of those that canât drink dairy when the dairy alternative milks do not cost any more than regular milk nowadays.
Also ordered an egg croissant. It came to me soft, rubbery, and a million degrees. When It finally cooled down 10 min later It tasted like cardboard. Requested an alternative bread and alternative method of preparation since the staff said they put It in an âoven to melt the cheeseâ. So I switched It to a bagel. Thinking theyâll toast the bagel in which the hot egg and the toasted bagel will naturally melt the cheese. Wrong. They brought me the same boiling hot rubbery mess of a sandwich. After another ten minutes of waiting til I wouldnât burn myself I sprinkled some salt inside to make it more edible. It was still so awful, between the consistency and the flavor, or lack thereof. If the owner reads this, please change the way your breakfast sandwiches are made. Even McDonaldâs doesnât do that. If you donât agree, I challenge you to eat one...
Read moreToday I was looking for a local coffee shop and I discovered this hidden gem. After living in college towns for much of my life, moving to Upper Marlboro has had it challenges. Iâd grown to love local coffee shops, so you could understand my frustration when I moved to the area and discovered that the closest coffee shops were Starbucks and Dunkinâ Donuts. When I woke this morning I was determined to visit a local coffee shop because Iâd become fed up with my lackluster franchise experiences. When I stumbled upon the Main Street Cafe, my heart skipped a beat. I got into my car a rushed to the cafe. The shop is quaint, clean and full of warmth. The baristas were kind and helped me navigate the menu with ease. The lattes were exactly what Iâd hope for. That rich expresso taste surged through ever sip! My heart is full because I feel that I have finally found my coffee home! I also want to say that their danishes are delicious! I canât wait to visit the...
Read moreMy coworkers and I love going to this place for breakfast sandwiches and coffee but as of lately they seem to be closed more than opened. Today I went to the place located next door to them and saw about 3 or 4 people go pull on their door handle for lunch only to find out that they were closed once again. Based on the note on the door it appears that they are constantly closed due to staffing issues. I love this place so much that I have even referred people to apply! They have a help wanted sign in the window and when I asked about the position I was told that you have to send an email. I would think due to the amount of time that they spend being closed because of staffing issues they would at least have applications in store or online (indeed, zip recruiter, social media etc) I really want to see this place succeed and stay open. I'm truly writing this review hoping that...
