Me and my girl have been to Perry's a few different times. Her and her Dad of course have been there even more. This time in particular though it was me, her and her dad. We saw the band Crayfish play there while we ate, danced and enjoyed music. However, before I continue this review let me shoot back about 35 years ago around 1989 . I was in my last year of highschool. MTV was a channel then that played music videos just about all day. Headbangers Ball was a 30 min show that I remember watching as religiously as possible all through high school. I remember seeing debut music videos on MTV from some of my favorite bands like Guns n Roses, Faster Pussycat, Cinderella, Poison,Tesla etc etc. Along with my favorite bands that came out a little later but didnt quite reach that magnitude like Tyketto, Bang Tango, Southgang, Tora Tora etc etc .One band that I remember really getting into was Lord Tracy. Their debut album came out in 1989. I graduated high school in 1990 with my own long hair and rock n roll dreams. For me every song on their debut album titled Deaf godz of Babylon was freakin awesome. Their energy, their style, their music.... it was that play over and over kinda cassette. The lead singer Terry Glaze who was the original singer of Pantera before Lord Tracy and before Pantera was the Pantera you know now.
Jumping back to the present day while at Perrys.. I had the privilege of seeing Terry Glaze sing and perform again. This time as the lead singer of Crayfish. I met him, shook his hand and told him "its a privilege to finally meet you". One of my favorite bands at a prime time in my life. He was very nice with everyone I seen him talk to. He took photos and had drinks with with people there. Terry has been in several bands in 35 years . You can check out his website for more information and upcoming live dates. Tonight wasn't about Lord Tracy songs , it was about music . Lots of cover songs and a good time even though " Foolish Love " would have been nice to hear.
Perry's is a cool little place. Restaurant area, tables, dance floor, bar, stage. Sometimes they even have outside music live. Their menu has a nice variety of stuff. My apologies I got sidetracked and forget photos of the food and menu this time. In the restaurant part you can hear the band but cant see them. So we sat in a booth in the area where we could see the band . We ordered a combo platter, a crab pretzel and some drinks. The food was good. No complaints at all. The server was always right there. She kept it steady with checking on everyone. With a band playing live 18 ft away it did get hard to hear but we managed for the most part. Im giving Perry's 4 out of 5 stars. It's a cool place and the food was great but the area used to accommodate the band, dance floor and bar inside is small. There aren't many tables . If you dont get a table or sit at the bar I feel like your only option is just lingering on your own two legs two feet in front of someone else's table or just move your body a little on the tiny dance floor. Till next time.......
Read moreI just left this restaurant not 10 minutes ago and the experience was so negative, I felt this should not wait until I forgot the details. My mother and I went in for dollar crab night. This was not our first trip there for crabs or regular menu dining, but it was the worst and we won't be returning. First, crab night now comes with an entire page of caveats to read before eating. This includes charging for butter, the fact that you can only order 6 or 12 crabs at a time (despite the fact that they precooked the crabs upon delivery and just pull them out of the steamer when an order comes in), and automatic gratuity added to parties of any size. The must read item on the bottom states all crab sales are final, no refunds. Ok, I understand some people might be jerks and try to say they weren't happy with the size or weight and try to get money back. We aren't those people. For $1, we expect small, but we don't expect bad, smelling of ammonia, inedible crabs. Of the dozen I ate, 2 were good, 2 were bad, and 8 were just small and light. Upon opening the first bad crab, we told the server. She looked at it and did nothing. 30 minutes and another bad crab later, the server says her shift is ending and we will have a new server. We ask if she will bring healthy, edible crabs to replace the bad ones. She walks over to the manager (owner?) who has been sitting in the dining area conducting personal business and using his speaker phone with crying baby coming through the background, to ask about replacing our crabs. 2 new ones come out. 1 of the 2 is BLACK inside. We tell the new server who has the manager come over. He drops the check down says he took $2 off for the crabs and states "Don't come back any more for the crabs" He walks away. My mouth fell open and I couldn't believe what he said. Don't worry, we and everyone we know won't be coming back to such a horribly run restaurant who doesn't value its customer's health enough to provide safe, edible food, and catch an attitude about it, instead of just replacing the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of experiencing the incredible catering services of Perry’s Restaurant in Odenton for my granddaughter Ashleigh’s wedding, and I cannot express enough how spectacular they made the event. From start to finish, the food, decorations, and service were absolutely above and beyond, creating a truly memorable day for everyone involved. The variety and quality of the food were outstanding. The omelette station, donut bar, cereal bar, and crab cakes were not only unique but also perfectly executed. The customized cereal bowls added a personal touch that the bride and groom truly appreciated. Each dish was prepared to perfection, and the flavors were simply delicious. One of the highlights of the event was the charcuterie boards used as centerpieces for the tables. These were not only visually stunning but also a huge hit with the guests. The selection of cheeses, meats, fruits, and accompaniments was top-notch, and everyone raved about them throughout the afternoon . The mimosa bar was another fantastic addition that everyone enjoyed. The variety of fresh juices and perfectly chilled champagne made for delightful and refreshing drinks that complemented the celebratory atmosphere beautifully. The service provided by Perry’s was impeccable. The staff were professional, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure that every detail was taken care of. Their dedication and hard work were evident in every aspect of the event, from the setup to the cleanup. Thanks to Perry’s Catering Department, Ashleigh’s wedding was a beautiful and spectacular event that will be remembered fondly by all who attended. I can't thank them enough for their exceptional service and for making this special day so wonderful.
