Very nice, bright interior. Many family sized dining tables. Quick and efficient service. There is a tip jar at the register to reward the minimal service. This first visit I chose the special 5 meat pho soup. It was delicious with nice rice noodles. Pho comes with a tiny salad and choice of one side dish. I chose the hard boiled egg. It was fresh and ordinary. Next time I will try the white sticky rice. They should have a bigger variety of better tiny sides for the high prices. It was a weekday late lunch. There was only one other customer besides me present. It's cool and peacefully quiet in the dining room. There is nothing exciting here. Just good Asian pho soup, which is special and plenty for me. The first time I ever had it was in the Vietnamese Air Force officer's club in Saigon, 1970. They called it the "Snake Pit." You can't imagine how exciting that place was. It was pleasantly cool, but roaring, not peaceful. Go to the Pho 5up soon. I don't expect it to survive to 2025 unless the menu improves, and something exciting unexpectedly occurs. Some beautiful, soft, romantic southeast Asian background music would be a plus, and some beer. Hell, add a bar, too, while...
Read moreI am in love with this pho for carry out even though it's like the nicest interior of any pho shop I've ever been in so I'm sure dine in would be awesome too.
The packaging of the soup cannot be beat: super organized, sealed utensil packet; neat spill-proof packets of hoisin and sriracha; a nice BIG bowl for your soup. Such a tidy, organized carry-out package, perfect for my OCD.
The noodles weren't clumpy and the garnishes were brilliant. Instead of the usual 4 leaves of browning basil and 2 tons of soggy sprouts, there were a reasonable amount of really fresh sprouts with tons of vibrant basil (+ the lime was nice and juicy). If you're like me and try to limit your beef consumption, the chicken pho was better than elsewhere. Chicken not chewy or stringy and it comes with lots of VEGGIES (broccoli, cabbage, carrots)! Yay. Plus the broth was also delicious and very well balanced.
Pho 5UP clearly cares about presentation and quality and that makes me feel good about eating their food. 5/5, highly recommend and am so excited to have them close...
Read moreVery horrible establishment, everyone inside was rude. No customer service at all. Was my first time ever trying Pho. I asked a young man what kind of drink would he recommend, he stated “whatever you want”. After I ordered, no one ever came to check and ask how was anything instead went to every other table. So I decided to leave because I will not spend my money where I am not appreciated. Only the summer rolls were touched, nothing else. I stated I will pay for them that’s it. He then yelled at me telling me to sit down because I am responsible for my food. I told him I will not go back and forth with him I would like to pay for what I did eat. He continued harassing me, yelling forcing me to sit. As 3 minutes went by he then called his manager to try to cancel the order. I paid, and as I was leaving...
