I'd like to open up this review to say that, as a public service, I implore you all to drive south or north on 301 and go, hell, anywhere else in the fast food realm because this is the second time I've been burned by this place. I beg of you, have more respect for yourself than to patronize this location.
This is going to be long so settle in.
I arrive at the location at 9:20 in the drive-in section, two cars ahead of me. After waiting 10 minutes because nobody would respond to the gentleman and the speaker, I go in and I have to tell you, it was pretty disgusting in there.
I grew up in Prince George's County so I'm used to poor customer service and less than savory conditions but I wanted to have faith that my people would hold me down. That faith was shattered. The staff were having spirited debates about having cheesesteaks, which the outgoing manager gleefully said she was going to by as she instructed her staff "make the place nice" -- which was going to be a tall task.
The restaurant was adequately staffed, although the lone cashier wasn't at her post and instead in the general seating area moving with the urgency of a wounded bat.
Now, let's get to the "food" -- quotes intended. After failing to explain to me why I couldn't by wings ala carte and forcing me into a two whole wings combo, which had to be the bottom of the barrel, I then made the foolish mistake of ordering a three piece tenders meal. The "tenders" were really long strips of batter with about a centimeter of chicken contained within.
This farce of a dinner cost me $22. For that, I could've gone to Safeway off in the distance, whipped up a better meal for myself, and the poor patrons behind me. Again, I grew up in P.G. County, worked in fast food, and boy do I know how bad our spots can be. Nothing was explosively bad as this night.
So, again, avoid this place unless you want cold, overcooked, dry chicken, hard biscuits, and service with an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is probably the worst Popeyes in Maryland! Make sure you count your chicken before you leave the restaurant! They will give you less food than you ordered AND replace with cheaper pieces.
This is a bad product from this specific Osborne/Rt301 location: I ordered a 12 piece chicken š box in their app. What I received was 10 pieces of mostly legs š(5) and small thighs(4), NO breasts & 1 wing. And unfortunately when I opened the box at home the chicken wasnāt even warm (maybe a 10-15 minute drive). Notice how the chicken pieces donāt even cover the bottom of the box? Their pieces have gotten smaller so your overall portion is smaller in addition to ripping you off by shorting your order. Or theyāre using mutant chickens š
And this is a bad and misleading product from corporate: When I have purchased a 12 pc chicken order before, whether from other Popeyes locations or other restaurants, it has always equaled the equivalent of 1.5 (1&1/2) chickens - 8 pieces for a whole chicken + 4 pieces for a half chicken. The Popeyes app just says 12 pc of chicken, setting expectations for pieces from 1.5 chickens. You donāt find out until AfTER you pay and complete the order that you only get pieces from 1 chicken plus some extra legs & thighs, ripping you off a breast and wing.
Of course in this instance, the store stole food and shorted the order by not even putting the 2nd breast and wing in the box.
Funny how their quality of food and employees quality control went down hill so fast after they drove Bojangles out of business ⦠maybe weāll get lucky and Raising Cane will come in and take over the empty Bojangles pad and drive Popeyes out! Cane has already put in new stores on 301 in Crofton and Bowie in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI generally hesitate to join the chorus of negative reviews, but my recent experience at this Popeyes location was, unfortunately, one of the worst Iāve had, this side of the Mason-Dixon line. While I recognize that several similar complaints have already been posted, I still felt compelled to share mine in the hope that someone in management is listening.
I visited the drive-thru a few days ago and was immediately struck by how faint the speaker system was. I had to lean significantly out of my vehicle to hear and communicate. I brought this to the attention of the employee taking my order, who was speaking quickly, softly, and with notable impatience. When I pulled up to the window and politely mentioned the issue again, I was met with an exaggerated eye roll from the young man working the window. As someone who is both married and a parent, I can confidently say Iāve seen my fair share of eye rolls, this one set a new bar.
While I understand that hiring younger employees can offer flexibility and availability, that needs to be paired with appropriate oversight. There must be a seasoned manager on site to ensure that customer service reflects the standards associated with the Popeyes brand. During my visit, I observed staff standing around on their phones or chatting outside, which made the 15-minute wait at the window, only to receive an incorrect order with no sauces as requested, all the more frustrating.
Regrettably, Iāll be avoiding this location going forward. Poor customer service, long wait times, and unprofessional behavior are a recipe for lost business. And in light of the now-shuttered Bojangles next door, one might wonder if the warning signs are already...
