The owner is very nice, but that does not make up for the bad tasting smoothies seemingly every time I go. I’ve been a trop customer for years, so I was very happy when this location opened about 5 minutes from my house, but I have now learned to actively go out of my way to go to the other locations in the area. The SAME smoothies I’ve gotten for years will taste completely different if you go to this location. Today, I even went out of my way to let them know the smoothie didn’t taste right when I got it, and the one they made to “fix” it didn’t taste any better. I wish I could say that it has only happened once or twice, but it is almost every time I go to this location. If it’s not too bad, I’ll usually just drink whatever they give me anyways, but there has been more than one time where I’ve thrown away my smoothies all together once getting home because they just simply were not good, and even chugging would not help. Very disappointing to continually deal with, and I’ve hesitated to write this review as I like to normally give (especially new) businesses the benefit of the doubt as they work out kinks, but this has been a consistent problem for months now. Hopefully this review will help get this issue addressed, as like I said, the owner is very nice and welcoming, and I wish them much success. They just have to do better with the production of meals as customers expect to get what they paid for, not this location’s...

I want to like this Tropical Smoothie because it’s black owned and I’ve met one of the owners who seemed very kind and professional, BUT, the workers they hire are terrible. They do not greet you, they don’t smile, they don’t tell you your total, they don’t thank you. I understand they are teenagers but if you want to run a decent establishment, hire people with at least a little bit of customer service. Like someone else mentioned, these girls will be having side conversations, laugh at you if you return their energy, and act as though they absolutely hate their job. Every time I go to this location, as soon as I walk in the door my attitude changes because of the unwelcoming atmosphere. OWNERS, if you’re reading this… have a staff meeting about your employees lack of customer service skills. This is what’s holding us back. ALSO, your employees braids- while beautiful- are literally sweeping the floor and there’s never a hair-net in sight. One of the ladies long braids swept the food-making station as she was turning around. It’s gross. And another thing, one of your male employees needs to be trained again, his smoothies and food are alwaysss nasty....
