Rise Up Edgewater — Restaurant in Maryland

First went to Annapolis location. Line out the door that was slowly moving of if it was even moving... Got fed up with that went to the Edgewater location. Much more manageable crowd. Took a look at the whole bean coffee selection, had my eye on a Costa Rican. Noticed that the roast date was 4-3-23, today is 4-29, that means that coffee is over 3 weeks old. looked thru all of the beans the closest roast date I could find was 4-13 on a Guatamalan, decided to get this. Beans used for espresso at 92°c 17g in 36g out, coffee was unremarkable and comparable to a store bought generic coffee. Not getting a lot of anything, some roastiness, some black tea, really boring for 17$ a bag imo. Idk about you but for a professional coffee roaster the old roast dates, long lines and relatively boring coffee offerings have made me write off this roaster for good. Really cute place with reasonable selection of coffees drinks and pastries. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The cappuccino was very good and nicely made. The reason for the 4 star rating is two things: 1) it is really echo-y inside so much so that it was hard to hear anything being said, and 2) parking is a huge problem. It would be great if there was more clarity about spaces available and possibly some signage. As for the echo....not an expert but there needs to be something to absorb some of the racket. Fail today Rise Up team. My wife went in to get me my favorite bacon egg and cheese sandwich. One of the best in the area. The cashier forced her to take one of the premade ones as “they were just put in the case and they are the same”. Nope. Rubber fried egg. Not scrambled. Rubber cheese. Not melted cheese. Soggy rubber bacon. Not fresh crispy bacon. Muffin that was not toasted. Big fail. Threw it away. I get it. You have these for convenience. But when your customer is willing to wait and pay the extra money. Listen to the customer. Honestly this makes the McDonald’s version look gourmet. Off to find my new favorite bacon egg and...
