I am not one to usually complain about a business, but this is not a situation that I can just let go. This morning I went to Sam's Bagels (like my wife and I have many times in the past) to get two bagels for my wife and I. My wife wanted an onion bagel, but the nice girl in the front said they were out of that flavor and offered an egg/onion bagel instead. I got home and wife opened it up and it looked like an egg bagel with poppy seeds mixed in the dough (apparently it was onion seeds, which we have never heard of??). We were expecting an egg bagel with onion flakes on top, like their onion bagel (or any other standard onion bagel). So I called back and the owner answered the phone and I explained the situation and asked if we could exchange it for a plain bagel. Most businesses would want to correct the situation. Instead the owner immediately said "So you want it for FREE?, Just come in and get it" being very rude and short. When I got there, the owner was up front and I told him I had just spoken to him on the phone. He proceeded to rant and YELL saying "What am I going to do with this?" and that this situation wasn't fair to him. He wouldn't listen to anything I was saying and just kept yelling. I was extremely diplomatic with him. When I got home, my wife was disgusted with the way I was treated and called back. He answered again and said "I am done with this issue" and hung up on her. If you want to treat a good paying customer this way, that is your choice. However, we...
Read moreI’ve ordered from here a few times, but it’s been awhile so I’m basing this on my last experience. I ordered a scrambled egg and cheese with bacon on an everything bagel. Breakfast is served all day, which I love because sometimes you just want a breakfast sammich at 1pm. The person who took my order over the phone was polite, and the counter service when picking up my order was courteous and helpful. The sandwich was decent. The bacon was really really good; crispy, perfectly cooked, and not fatty. I find that impressive as even large restaurants and breakfast-specializing diners can’t always seem to get bacon right. The everything bagel was also very good. It tasted fresh and had all the right every “things”. The “scrambled” egg however was lacking. It was very sparse, barely seemed like 2 whole eggs. And it was folded. I really don’t understand why some places take time to scramble eggs but then fry and fold them over. I guess it makes for a neater sandwich, but people will ask for a fried egg if they’re looking for the fold-over egg. Otherwise, if they upped their egg usage on the sandwich and used a truly scrambled egg, this place would rate at 5 stars for me on the breakfast sandwiches alone. I’ll...
Read moreRude and unprofessional.... I looked at the wrong menu item by mistake, trying to find what I wanted to order. When I asked a question, the owner was very rude & acted as if he was agitated and too busy to help me...I told him no I want to cancel the order and I left, ( not because of the price but because of how I was treated and I let him know that before walking out). I would not spend a penny ever again here! I've known this store for many years and he has always seems like he is not interested in my business...I usually only buy a few bagels. I haven't been here in several years and decided to give it a try again & grab an egg breakfast before work. I'll never come back and spend my money where I am mistreated. Maybe if you go there & spend more money, you'll be treated better...either way it is shameful!!!
I'm adding to this review because I now see there are several other people of color who were treated in a rude manner! This owner is racist!...
