I am from the True South and have been living in the MD area off and on for the Past 10 Years due to my job. About three years ago I stopped by this place on a Sunday and tried their Pork Ribs. This past Sunday I was craving some Beef ribs so I did a search for beef ribs in the FT Washing area and this place came up. Now remind you I remember my past experience, but I decided to give them another tray. I started by placing my order online which was a breeze. After placing my order I headed over to the restaurant upon my arrival I noticed that the place was packed so I said to myself things must have improved. I got in line received my food and departed. I was excited to get home and eat, the plate was so heavy just from the ribs alone so I was like damn they must have give me a whole slab, lol...I got home and looked at my plate and the first thing I noticed is how dry the meat looked. I tried to take a bite out of the ribs but they were so tuff, you could not even do that...um talking about um pulling tendons and all with the ribs which I did not find to be very pleasing, not to mention the taste of the LIGHTER FLUID (JUST HORRIBLE). This is the last time that I will come to this place for BBQ. I have read all the reviews and comments left, if you Marylanders think this food is as good as you all say in the comments, I have news for you all...YALL DONT KNOW GOOD FOOD, not to mention GOOD BBQ. I would love to challenge them to a cook off on anything they have on their menu and let the public decide whose taste the best.

Read moreI came to The Smoke Rib and BBQ spot in Fort Washington on Sunday May 18th 2026, I arrived at 4:02 pm and placed my order. l ordered a half chicken and rib dinner with two large sides and a fish dinner the same. I waited for about eleven minutes and went back in and placed another order for a friend. I waited until about 4:48 to ask about my order because about fifteen ir more people came and went without my number for my first order being called so I went to the register to ask how much longer only to be told that they were waiting on the chicken so I asked when was I going to be informed with no response from a young girl. I waited until 5:06 pm to ask how much longer by this light skinned mole faced Ms. Master Splinter chick who gave attitude to which I returned the same energy she bagged up my chicken and fish with no sides. I had to waited another twenty five minutes because the broke back cook can't coordinate the food in the back and they ran out of mac-n-cheese it didn't come out until 5:49 p.m. Normally y'all for the past twenty plus years this had been my rib spot but the workers and their code of ethics has severely changed my mind about them and it only takes one bad experience to make you a hater. Y'all once I got home and plated my food everything the fish, greens, yams and mac-n-cheese was bland no seasoning what so ever however the potato salad was okay. The moral of this story is "Customer service is key to a successful business." Funky ishes and be careful where you eat and...
Read moreI really wanted to enjoy my meal from Smokeshack Carry Outs, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations. I ordered the beef ribs, cabbage, and baked beans, thinking I was in for a hearty, flavorful plate of comfort food—but I was left disappointed.
The beef ribs were okay in texture, but they didn’t have the rich, smoky flavor I was hoping for. The barbecue sauce was especially off-putting—it had an extremely strong vinegar taste that overwhelmed everything else. Instead of enhancing the meat, it masked any natural flavor the ribs may have had.
The baked beans tasted undercooked, both in texture and flavor. They were firm and lacking that slow-cooked, savory-sweet richness you expect from a good side of beans. It honestly felt like they were rushed or not cooked all the way through.
As for the cabbage, it was probably the biggest letdown of the plate. There was no seasoning at all—no salt, pepper, butter, or anything to give it life. It tasted like plain, boiled cabbage with zero effort put into flavor.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I think it’s important feedback for the kitchen. There’s potential here, but the execution just wasn’t there this time around. Hopefully, they take this as constructive criticism and make some...
