Seafood Shanty — Restaurant in Maryland

Visited for the first time to pick up dinner for a friend. They were out of crab cakes so I was a bit disappointed. It wasn’t very busy when I entered and there were only 2 men working at the time. After placing my order and paying by cash, the place became busy. The men alternated between cooking and waiting on customers. I became concerned about my order because the one who was cooking mine became very busy at the cash register. I also observed he was not wearing gloves when he lined my boxes and placed my food inside, after handling money. When I picked up my order he motioned for me to leave a tip!!! I wasn’t sure what to do because I have never been confronted like that before. So, I reached into my purse and dropped 50 cents in the cup. I hope I misunderstood his gesture, but I’m going to visit again, to make sure. Also, I had two different orders of fish, but he didn’t mark what was in each box. So, I love me some fish! I was craving fish today and decided to give Seafood Shanty a visit since I was in the area. I had not been in quite some time, so I was not sure what to expect. Guys, I am horrible with taking pictures, but the fish smelled so delightful I had to try a piece while driving 😉. I was quite satisfied that the fish (trout) was very fresh, not overly seasoned or salty, and very delicious. I ordered the shrimp and fish platter for $15.99, which included 3 pieces of decent size filets, I believe it has 5 or 6 pieces of medium-sized shrimp, fries, and coleslaw. They have Horace and Dickey beat. Trout and Whiting was fresh french fries and coleslaw with delicious price for a four piece dinner was $9.99. Their fish was not cooked from frozen or from a very chilled state the fish was tender and you can taste the flavor and it flake when you broke it. There was a long wait because they only let three people in at a time do the covid restrictions but the fish was worth the wait.
