Tonight we went to the valley view inn as we've gone many many times before. Even though the girl told me the crab cakes were $2 higher I order them anyway because I always enjoyed them. It was horrible. And after saying to the girl multiple times it was salty and horrible all she could say to me was I'm sorry. I told her it was very very salty and she told me another customer had said the same thing. Well what does that tell you? I think at the least she should have offered me something off my bill. I'm one who always cleans my plate and tonight left not quite half the crab cake on the plate because it was nasty and very salty. I was very very disappointed with valley view tonight and not sure that I'll be returning. I've always enjoyed coming there but after tonight I'm not sure that I'll be back...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................since it wont let me respond to you you would think after saying something to her multiple times she would have offered to get me something else or a discount of some sort...she should have offered, i shouldnt have to ask...i never compain...thats not me...we are regulars which makes it even worse...ironically my mom and dad ate there the following night which i didnt find out till today and he didnt like his crabcake either...but at least he was told it was claw meat which i was not told. all i was told was it was $2 more because crabmeat went up...if i would have know that i would have ordered something else...i said something to her 3 or 4 times...that should have caused concern from my server especially because i never complain. i made it clear how...

I went with a party of thirteen on a busy Friday night. I ordered grilled chicken with rice and a side of broccoli. My drink request was a Bombay Sapphire and tonic. My companion ordered a Beefeaters and tonic. No Bombay. No Beefeaters. We got Tanqueray. Two of us got soup which was served lukewarm. They were sent back to be reheated. My grilled chicken, served on one side of a large plate, had grill marks like you would get from a grill pan but none of the smokey flavor or gradient cooking of a real grill. It was dry, overcooked and served lukewarm. The broccoli was also lukewarm and undercooked. The rice, which was advertised as part of the dish, came much later on a separate plate. There was no room at the table for additional plates so I dumped the rice onto the empty space on my chicken platter. At least the rice was warm and moist. But the rice had a strange flavor. Very buttery with a hint of “burnt”. Maybe this was the missing grilled flavor from the chicken. In the end, I had a good time with friends. The Tanqueray and tonic was good and the best part of the meal. Last year my meal here was a disaster as I reported in my review. This year was much improved. I had a Cajun catfish and shrimp special which was very good. Most dinners here are served with each part on a separate plate without sauce or garnish. I like my meal served on a single plate and the Cajun special was. It was also warm,...

I had always enjoyed this hometown, neighborhood restaurant very much. It was just 2 of us, we came in just before 7pm, & were seated very close to the door. Though their were many other tables open. Our table near the back entrance so it wasn't very visible to the servers. When I needed something I needed to go find a server to find our server. My 1st THREE choices of entrees were sold out. I was told that they were out by about 6:30p, including the specials. I specifically went for the Rib special. I ended up ordering a grilled Rueben which had sat long enough that when served the cheese had begun to congeal. The amount of meat was underwhelming. It was not visually appealing, nor was it flavorful. I assumed that my sandwich was started @ the same time as my friends hot entree. She described her food "as edible." Dining out is a very special treat for me & my friend. Personally it's maybe just twice, or 3 x's a yr. I assume bcuz of that it just made my experience more saddening than anything. Our waitress was...

10 Stars! The locals have been coming to this place for DECADES, and now I know why. It has a unique family feel, great food, and kindly staff. The chef, in my opinion, is incredibly talented. I ordered a medly of items from the menu and was impressed with every dish. Portion size, taste and price were all spot on - I actually felt guilty that they didn't charge more for the food! The ingredients were so fresh and they spared no expense! French Onion soup - to die for. Absolute perfection. The chili was also delicious, just the right amount of spice, flavorful and satisfying. Maryland Crab soup - the star of the show. Giant delicious chunks of crab meat in a blissful soup. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I ordered the rice pudding. Wow. Now I know what heaven tastes like! Overall, our party was so pleased with the service and food that we literally stood and gave the chef a round of applause!

I've been eating at Valley View for over 20 years. I've ordered the fried oysters many, many times. Tonight I ordered them again. They were the Worst fried oysters I have ever had. I took a photo. They were barely the size of a quarter. The waitress commented that kitchen staff had questions about them. They should never have served them. Friends and I eat there almost every week after bowling. I have lunch there regularly. Ask about the quality, origin and size before ordering. I sent them back!

This is a great hidden gem! They have clean Covid spaced tables, great service and delicious food. We ordered salad (which was fresh w/homemade dressing), French Onion soup (the best I’ve had in years) and the roast Turkey platter (savory stuffing, homemade mashed potatoes and moist tasty turkey). Even the coffee was fresh brewed. It’s connected to a bar and has some of that vibe. However, we’ll be back for more delicious food and great service from this family owned restaurant.
