Vargas Restaurant & Bakery — Restaurant in Maryland

Less than poor . .horrible! I ordered sweets for 50 people to be delivered to a family member of a friend who had passed. It was to be delivered @ 1:30 pm on Thursday . . .the restaurant was contacted on Wednesday late morning - they agreed they could make the delivery. I was contacted by the family after the wake & told never arrived. I called the restaurant 3 times requesting to speak with someone in charge, told someone would get back with me, when I asked to whom I was speaking I was hung up on all 3 times. No one ever called back & they put the charge to my account through. I intend to go thru the bank fraud department to have my money returned!!! The very least they could have done was to call to say they were unable to make the delivery . .but instead took my money & made no contact. If I had not made the family aware to be on the look out for the order, I would never had known it was never delivered!! VERY POOR BUSINESS DEALINGS - VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS...

I Love this little restaurant. The food is outstanding every time. The owner Antonio is wonderful. He has a smile on his face all the time that says, I am happy you are here and happy to make the best meal every time you are here. Antonio loves to cook and it shows. Each time I go this little hideaway, the food is over the top. I leave totally satisfied every time. I always order extra so I will have something to take home. Did I mention the fresh baked goodies. I go for the fresh baked cookies and turnovers ( is they are not sold out). From the very first time I ate here, I felt like I was a part of the family. I enjoy communicating with the staff, because I don’t speak Spanish, yet they always know what I want and can make recommendations that seem to always to be exactly what I wanted. Very cozy little place with a lot of charm. I give them a 10 for friendly staff, a10 on delicious food and a 10 for a charming atmosphere. OMG the most disgusting food ever. Just wanted $35 on for that was taken home and thrown in the trash. I was (am still) starving... like sick-to-my-stomach hungry, and I still can't get this disgusting food down. Authentic Mexican is my favorite food, I have never had to cut my steak and chicken to fit on the flat bread that was served instead of tortillas. The meat was disgusting and way too large for fajitas as was the peppers. Like they were too lazy to cut and prepare anything. Not to mention the place was extremely dirty. Never again will I go here and am just so disappointed to have thrown $35 in the trash which I cannot afford. No wonder the people who work there was eating pizza and Chinese food... Even their employees won't eat their own food. So disappointed and aggravated to have wasted...
